Youporn considering sponsorship of a Dota 2/League of Legends/Heartstone team/player.

Not a big deal. Brazzers has sponsored players before as well.

If you're talking about the Brazzers thing in the fighting game community, I think it was more of a PR from Brazzers intervening through twitter and livestreams promising fake things like sponsoring and host their own tournaments just to promote their brand, nothing ever came out of it. There was a lot of objection from tournament organizers and such just because they want their community to be an accessible one, having a porn company sponsor a player or fighting game event just promotes them and seemed like a bad thing.

Yeah, they can alienate all the girls just fine by themselves

Is this a thing in LoL or DOTA2 tournaments? Or is this just some random new occurrence?

as far as dota 2 is concerned, they sometimes have companies which aren't pc/gaming related sponsor tournaments and players/teams. i remember mcdonalds sponsored a tournament last year. monster sponsors 2 teams who have the same owner (eg, alliance). there's a player sponsored by red bull. i'm pretty sure there's more. but no porn companies so far

i don't know anything about league of legends

What? Why?

Susan G Komen didn't want money from a pornographic organization. They didn't say much in their respond except that they don't want to work with them and for them not to try and make donations in their name and officially rejected it.

The idea was that for the month of October, PornHub would pay a cent every 30 views on videos tagged with big/small breast. The ratio these videos normally accumulated was about 70-90 million a month, which would result in about $30K in donations.

Maybe it was the way it was going about it, but it's a donation for a good cause.

It would be pretty dumb for anyone serious to accept a sponsor by a pron site, unless of course...

I'd understand not wanting to associate the two with each other or thank a porn company for such a serious cause, but that's a decent amount of money that could be used to help sufferers.

Of course if it hurt their chances with other potential donators, then it makes sense to decline.

How can a porn company give back to the community if no one will accept their goodwill? :(

I see no problem with it. If we are going to be prudes and act like porn and porn viewing is such a taboo, then why the fuck are these people making billions a year.

If they are not funding an under 18 player, let it rock I say. We got sponsors by crappy unhealthy energy drinks, beer, male enhancement, soda, anti-depressants and everything else. Why not a website with boobs on it.

Unless one of the prizes includes a year of not have to see a livejasmin pop up, they can keep their sponsorship.

Like brazzers with Long Island Joe a few years back. I dunno why there was such a huge backlash back then. I don't see any problem with this.
