lol who was saying Resistance was selling well. Level 5 is in some serious trouble here. That has to be one of the biggest flops of the year. 3DS holding up well before the LL. And Vita is managing to keep itself above 10k.

For the record, MC sales are also available right now. :D

Inferior tracker detected.

Top 30 vs top 20, no contest really.

While Time Travelers no doubt bombed, considering the already rather low sales of Ishii's last game the drop isn't that huge. Kingdom Hearts was still a much bigger flop, for example.

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
As I noted in the other thread that while L5 shipped more 3DS copies than Vita copies they bombed pretty damn equally.

The system is not the reason L5 games have been bombing of late IMO.

goodbye tt localization chances! unless the psp version manages to sell like 200k+ next week....

and to think hino wanted 500k..

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Not that I was remotely interested in Time Travellers when I realised it was below even Asura's Wrath and Heavy Rain in actual playable game terms, but for even Japan to shun it is pretty surprising.

Shoulda stuck with Ushiro on PSP ya dicks! (so it could join the bumper pack of Japanese games I will most likely never get to play)

I'm a bit sad for TT, but I guess it was expected to sell so poorly.
And... lol level 5. So many new IP, so many bomba.

For the record, MC sales are also available right now. :D

Were gonna need a bigger thread...

:p

This is getting a bit mad now; if the two counts are going to get bitchy were gonna need some ground rules!

Its showing a bit of thigh!

We've received more entertainment from watching their games fail than their games could ever hope to deliver.

Their success rate in failing will probably mean there can't be too many more laughs to have surely.

lol who was saying Resistance was selling well. Level 5 is in some serious trouble here. That has to be one of the biggest flops of the year. 3DS holding up well before the LL. And Vita is managing to keep itself above 10k.

Is it really one of the biggest flops of the year? Across two platforms it has sold 20k in the first week, not counting the PSP version which is coming out next week. 428 sold 34k in the first week on the Wii. I think overall it has a chance of eventually selling 50k or more lifetime across all 3 platforms. It's definitely a disappointment, but it's hardly a huge bomb since the most successful games of this sort generally sell only 100-200k.

On the other hand, something like KH3D failing to sell 500k is a much bigger bomba when you consider the decline of a previously successful franchise.

It's nothing at all like either of those games. It's a visual novel. The QTE parts were overblown by everyone, it turns out they're not very common at all.

Can someone post a comparison for BW2 with past pokemon games at the same point in lifetime?

Also DQ is gonna do a slow crawl to one million if it makes it there at all.

I did say one of the biggest flop of the year =p

KH3D probably is the flop of the year so far. Time Travelers looked like it had a lot more marketing and production value than any game of this sort. Is that a fair assessment?

Since Media Create is now same time with Famitsu thread title must return to the superior tracker.

How dare you....

Robotics;Notes sold almost as much on 360 alone as TT did on 3DS and Vita combined.

/edit/ KH3D is definitely up there, though.

Nope. Robotics;Notes probably beats it in every single area.

Robotics;Notes sold almost as much on 360 alone as TT did on 3DS and Vita combined.

Robotics;Notes is the third in a series of very popular games in the genre, with better marketing and promotion targeted specifically at that fanbase. It also has an anime series announced for Fall 2012 on the coveted noitaminA anime slot on FujiTV. 5pb also pushed the awareness of the release with re-releases and ports of Steins;Gate months before the game was released. There was a demo on PSN and XBL. The Steins;Gate anime was also popular and made a lot of people aware of the series.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
MH3G is really outlasting the Mario duo, impressive

It even increased this week. I think Mario Kart 7 will need a 3DS XL bundle in the near future, in order to revitalise its sales.

Kid Icarus sold more on Famitsu - prepare to meet the light!

Are there many third party releases for 3DS coming up to New Year? If not they could offer a Mario Bundle. New style system and Mario 3D/Mario Kart or something. A 'launch' pack sort of thing.

I think Monster Hunter 4 will likely be bundled with the XL as well if Nintendo/Capcom can come to agreement.

I find it very hard to feel sorry for Hino and his crew given what they've done. Rather than build reliable and strong IPs Level-5 has taken the Activision route of milking them for all their worth before intense decline forces you onto the next one. But unlike Activision, AFAIK Level-5 is not a public company with thousands of share holders breathing down Hino's neck expecting year over year growth.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
At least they will now have time to be Horii`s code-monkeys again.

Sad news about that TT opening. Neck and neck on both PSV and 3DS though so at least we know it had nothing to do with the platform. I wonder how the PSP version will open? I'm now thinking less than 10k also. =(

4 PSV games in the top 20 now? That's some kind of record isn't it? At least P4tG and Metal Gear are showing some (small) legs.

What's interesting about a week like this one is that you can see, in the absence of big, new releases, what's selling on a daily basis. People are still buying the Holy Trinity and some of the bigger named titles from the last month or so (DQM, Tokyo Jungle, etc.) and there's some real success stories in that Famitsu list.

And TT comes from a much bigger publisher*, has considerably higher production values than VN usually have and comes with the pedigree of someone that has already worked on well received story-driven games.

*I'm not so sure about that anymore.

Huh? What makes you think TT has higher production values than Robotics;Notes? Also, I'll say that 5pb and Nitroplus are better pedigree for the actual VN buying crowd than Jiro Ishii. Just look at historical sales. :p

That is a strong message. A remake of a game on Wii that sold 1M can outsell flagship titles of the two best-selling series in history. That underlines how fucking oustanding MH is.

Sorry.
