Snow levels and their design choices continue to baffle me.

Developers just have no clue what to do with water levels most of the time, whether they're liquid or solid.

ive never had a particular love for snow level music, seeing so many peeps especially appreciative of it is very odd to me. so much winter setting music is just christmas music, it seems like examples like phendrana drifts are few and far between

i like snow settings, but theyre really predictable. platformers all usually incorporate the same mechanics: slippery ice shit and snow that slows you down. when done uniquely and the aesthetic is good, i like them a lot, but they come off as low-effort concepts to me sometimes

Dark Souls has a good history of snowy levels: Painted World of Ariamis, Frozen Eleum Loyce, Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, Painted World of Ariandel.

Frigid Outskirts though... Fucking reindeer.
