BioShock Infinite PC Performance Thread

Rubbish King

The gift that keeps on giving
1680x1050 is my monitor, so that's what I ran at, everything maxed(hair turned off, cause yeah, no), and was at 50fps the whole time.

60 fps is nice, would like it, but if it doesn't interfere with my ability to score headshots en masse, and doesn't take you out of the game, I don't *need* it. The hair thing I'm thankful I didn't like either, cause that tanked my fps to a choppy sub 20.

Anyone know what normal and alternate post-processing refer to exactly?

Alternate enables diffusion-based depth of field. Costlier than normal post-processing, but some people prefer normal, hence it being an optional "Alternate" setting.

Ran a quick bench before i have to sleep....2am here :(

3570k,670

Ultra settings netted a average of 48.7fps at 1440p with diffusion DOF

61fps without the fancy DOF

Benchmark results (1680x1050, UltraDX11_DDOF preset):

Specs: 8GB DDR3-1600, 2600K @ 4.6GHz, 2GB GTX 670 SLI (314.22 drivers).

Edit: A couple of people wanted 1080p benchmarks when the Tomb Raider thread went up, so here are my results at 1920x1200 with the same in-game settings as above:

Yeah that Ben Franklin statue is scarier than ANYTHING i've encountered in the entire Dead Space franchise...

I'm with Dennis on this one.

Now I'm disappointed there isn't a 10gb texture pack... That ain't Ultra. Just Ultra console like.

Game still runs well on an Core i5 2500K, 8GB RAM, with an old 6950

We are going to need some mouse acceleration fixes in the .ini it seems. Playing it at the default setting of one notch above the minimum, and it is sensitive. Getting used to it though.

Lol, you realize next gen will use Unreal Engine 4...

So yeah...it will get much better.

I'll let someone else handle this one as I don't have the tact.

Anyhow:
From the other thread:
Mouse sensitivity has the same issue as the other Bioshock games. Anything above the absolute minimum = too high, minimum itself = too low. Gonna need to edit the config to get this right before I get started properly I think.
Why isn't this in any of those 10 outta 10 oh em gee reviews?
Bioshock gameplay was essentially ruined by the horrible mouse controls, not sure how a dev can fuck up mouse input in ue3 but here we are, for the third time.

Thanks. I might run a little lower than this since I'm running on a i7 930, but with a larger RAM pool (12GB).

Maxed out 1080P on my OC'd 550 TI 1GB , AMd FX-4100, 8GB RAM gives me 60FPS.

:sigh: Lol I haven't done the benchmark tool yet. I'm expecting 40-60 fps with some medium settings a la Crysis 3.

I don't think the current textures are actually the Ultra textures. There's a 10GB discrepancy between the minimum and recommended amount of HDD space (20GB versus 30GB), and the game's installation folder at present is only 16.9GB in size, which falls around the former end of the scale.

I'm running a i7-920@4Ghz with 12Gbs of ram/GTX 680 , I'll run this game at max and have Liz call me at the end of the night to tell me I was the best she ever had.

Is there any difference in benchmark results between ultra textures and the next highest level? Maybe ultra setting defaults to very high textures or whatever?

Just some initial config tweaks to fix two glaring issues for me:

XUserOptions.ini

MinMouseLookSensitivity=0.140000
MaxMouseLookSensitivity=4.000000

Change the min/max slider to something more comfortable. These work well for my setup. The default options are way too high, apart from the very minimum which is way too low.

FieldOfView=1.500000
MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent=45.000000

Expands the FOV sider range. I like mine nice and high and this works well for me. The default max value was still too low.

Is vsync busted up for you guys? It doesn't function for me in the benchmark, despite the benchmark results reading "UseVsync=true"

Thanks, thats my rig. I feel like this runs worse than Dishonored, not sure why. Oh I guess you had alternate PP, which apparently is a system hog. Not bad.

Thank you very much for this. A wide FoV is incredibly important to me and I don't even suffer from health problems. I can only imagine the people who do.

The only difference is I don't have that nice 680. I'm running with a slightly older card right now and don't plan on changing it out till I build a new rig.
