Edit: Seyavesh posted this over in another thread and I thought it looked great and decided to share it here.

RE5 looks pretty damn great without that color filter.

Are these actual FO NV animations? Cause I never noticed them be so goddamn cool

i mean it's from millenia's fantastic weapon mods but it's FO NV. the stock fonv guns do have proper animations like that but basically you'll never see any of these animations unless you slow time down a lot because these things pump in a split second

Gotta add that to my next playthrough's mod list

I've got a hot new 60vs30 WebM for you folks!

http://a.pomf.se/vcepxh.webm

I might end up remaking it though with a higher bitrate. It ended up about ~10Mb so I figure I could fudge it a bit more and get better clarity with a 15Mb file size.

We'll see what happens

Hi Alo, just cross-posting from the Witcher 3 DF thread.
Made two webms that lead to browser crashes and found the problem later. Maybe it'll be of use to someone.
Ok, it's the VP9 codec. Just encoded to VP8 with similar settings and no more crashes. Super weird. Will use only VP8 from on.
Check the webms for yourselves. Weird Climbing Animation + Weird Head Animation
Here's a zip with the webms encoded with VP9 that lead to crashes in the browser. They work with media players though.
Will use only VP8 from now on.

Update FFMPEG. I had that same issue with a recent version of FFMPEG. After updating again, it was fixed and VP9 videos worked again.

Because Alo81 personally suggested I post it here:
http://a.pomf.se/jwqoys.webm

Every time I used VP9 it killed my webms, but eh. Any quality webm is better than a gif!

I still genuinely think this might be the best video game WebM I've ever seen.

It's a perfect representation of the PC nature of the game (60fps), the awesome weapon, the tense combat encounters, the wide array of enemy types, the extreme sense of satisfaction when using a magnum and nailing headshots, the perfect execution, and the fantastic reload animation at the end. I feel like it perfectly encapsulates the RE4 experience.

Looks like there was a bit of slowdowns in it. And pomf has started to not load webm's for me lately, only works sometimes so this page is mostly filled with black videos that won't start. :(

It's weird since some of them do load, maybe something up with VP8/VP9? But I can watch them in a new tab, so don't think that's the problem..

Does anyone know the best place to host WebM's permanently?

It looks like all the WebM's from pomf.se are dead and that's a damn shame.

I just started using nVidia Shadowplay and this is my first gif/webm ever!

War Thunder: Yak-9K triple kill

It's a bit big though. Gfycat makes it easy to drag it to a smaller size, but is there a way to make it default to a smaller size? I didn't see any options. I just uploaded it to gfycat from the video file on my desktop, so maybe that's why.

Gfycat is pretty much the official webm host of reddit, so I'm sure it will be around for a long time.

Gfycat compresses WebM's though, so it's not really recommended for this thread. It's great when quality isn't a huge concern, but if quality is important it should be avoided.

I don't know if it's the best place, but sta.sh works with webm's as well.

Oh for real? Awesome! I rememeber trying it when this whole WebM thing started kickin off and it didn't work. Let me test it out, and can you post an example link?

Or your link Emerald Maiden link.

You get the link by clicking the "download" button in the sta.sh page. I suppose it depends on the browser settings if it actually downloads it or tries to view it. I have firefox set in such a way that webm's open in the browser by default, and that's where I grab the proper link.

Huh. Yeah Chrome just downloads. I'll have to look into how to best get the link on Chrome. Thanks for showing me this.

Edit: Once it's downloaded, it does show the actual URL to the hosted file. Hmmph.

Did anyone try to extract frames from video with ffdshow decoder?

Used 60 fps video. But the result is slow motion gif, grab every 5 or 10 frames in settings makes it choppy slo mo.

You would need to set the correct time for how long each frame should be displayed as well I believe. Currently you are displaying each frame for too long and it becomes too slow. It's been quite some time since I made one myself, so I might be off here.

That was the case, thanks.
