GRID: Autosport |OT| Zippin' Up My Boots, Goin' Back To My Roots, Yeah

I bought the season pass yesterday, bit stingy but I like the game and skipped Grid 2.

And three mini-expansions are in the works, each built around a theme: Sprint Pack; Touring Car Legends Pack; and Drag Racing Pack. Each mini-expansion includes a new single-player championship alongside new tracks, routes and cars.

Still waiting on 2 of the main dlc packs from what I understand.

Not gonna lie, this is a bigger disappointment to me than GRID 2 was, mainly due to how shallow the career mode is. I wasn't expecting a career mode as in depth as F1 or anything, but I was expecting something slightly more than just an even shallower version of the original GRID.

Touring Car Legends is probably the biggest pack we've done for Autosport, two brand new circuits (Silverstone and Donington Park), selection of cars and some new single player championships.

Drag pack is similar as well, but also has the new game mode.

Nice pack, but expensive as well. I'm very interested, but I'll wait for a price drop.

The game and DLC will probably go on sale again during the Winter sale at the latest. I'm surprised how quickly Codemasters discounted the game, it probably sold under expectations.

I haven't paid any attention to the DLC releases because none of them have interested me until this Touring Legends pack which I might get on a sale.

It's on sale (XB Live) - U$ 20,99

Great price, actually. I'm going for it despite doing all my racing on current gen consoles (F5, Horizon 2 and Driveclub soon).

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/P...sters puts something out on current consoles.

Downloaded the the drag pack last night, gonna try it out shortly. I don't think it was advertised anywhere. I literally stumbled across the trailer on youtube and the DLC was already out.

Bought this game during the GMG sales. Having trouble getting it to run at 60 FPS on my laptop. Anyone know which settings hurt performance most? My specs are:

12GB DDR3 Ram
Intel Core i7-3635QM quad core @2.4-3.2 GHz
AMD Radeon 8870M 2GB GDDR5 Ram@850 MHz

Despite this game running 'better' on AMD hardware, I'd take a look at Soft AO, Global Illumination & Advanced Lighting - the lighting can be a frame rate killer.

Bought it yesterday, the game is great! After my first game, I was addicted. The game is well optimized. It runs really so well on my "old" HD 5770, and it runs even better on my new GTX 760! :)

Hi! There is a problem in Grid Autosport that's not fixed yet.

Everytime I select a higher than desktop screen resolution, game locks framerate to 50 fps. Going back to 1080p doesn't fix the cap. A restart is necessary. And then comes the second part of the problem (this bug exists in Grid 2 too); everytime the game is launched, resolution resets to desktop resolution if a higher resolution is selected. Editing config file and setting it as read-only, doesn't fix the problem.

So, in Grid 2 I can use downsampled resolutions changing ingame options every time I launch the game, but no workaround is possible in Autosport.

How important for pc gamers downsampling is?

Near 1000 posts in the 'how to downsampling' thread
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=509076

More than 2198 posts in Gedosato thread (Durante's tool to downsample only render view in every game)
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=807472

Thanks!
MaLDo, managed to solve this irritating issue here by downloading a small app called "nircmd", creating a bat file that first, sets the desktop resolution temporally higher (to the desired game resolution) by using this app, then launches the game (where the downsampled resolution can be set), and finally reverts back to the default resolution after exiting it. Also, by creating a shortcut to the bat file and setting it to execute minimized, feels like a somehow elegant solution to me.

Here's the script for my bat file:

Code:
start C:\YourDesiredFolder\nircmd\nircmd.exe setdisplay 2715 1527 32
:: runs program to switch resolution for game, 32 = color depth (bits)

start steam://rungameid/14089436280924405760
:: launches steam game or program (if a non-steam game, add it to Steam and create a desktop shortcut to find out the game id)

The app: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html

Maybe too little, too late, but better than nothing. Cheers.

Thanks! I use AutoHotKey the same way. It's a workaround but not a real fix.

Bumping this to ask if anyone is having crash issues with the latest Nvidia drivers? I'm on 347.25 and the game/driver crashes as soon as I get to the screen that says "Press start/enter." The screen flashes and then goes black, and I can only get out of the game by alt+tab. Not a great start.
