It's too bad they wear out faster than other analog sticks on other systems, a stick that feels like the N64 stick but doesn't wear out as fast would be just about perfect... I also really like the octagonal well, I think it makes precise controls much easier than circular (as Sony, Sega, and MS's sticks all use, I believe) or square (like some PC gamepads, many of Saitek's for instance) welled analog sticks.

Nintendo 64: Propably in 1998 or so, the Atomic Purple N64 line was launched. It came with a standard N64 and two controllers, one standard grey and the other one transparent purple. Atomic Purple controllers were only available through this package, in the US at least, I'm pretty sure. It was one of the first alternate colors available for official N64 controllers. Later, in 1999 or early 2000, Nintendo released a line of semi-transparent colored N64 controllers and systems, the Funtastic line. They were the same price as an Atomic Purple system, but came with only one controller instead of two... is having a semi-transparent orange or green or whatever system worth the extra $25 it'd cost to buy that second controller? I say no. :) And then the smoky purple GBA and the purple Gamecube were both colors out at the launches of their systems. But it wasn't the first time Nintendo had used the color... I have a transparent purple GBC and both a smoky purple and solid purple GBA (the smoky purple one was my first one, but its dpad died so I got a new one, which ended up being the solid purple... I like the transparent ones more, they're more interesting.) and two Atomic Purple N64 controllers, in addition to the SNES, so yeah, I have a bunch of Nintendo's purple stuff... not the GC though, both of my GCs are black. |

![]() I cannot believe this wasn't posted, the Nintendo AVS (Advanced Video System) shown at CES 1984, a prototype American version of the Famicom with more features, stuff that was cut from the NES by 1985. ![]() Check out the other high-tech stuff that was being designed for the Nintendo AVS: http://www.nesworld.com/nes.php Also did anyone like the Super Famicom prototype and Famicom redesign prototype that I posted ? The Nintendo Revolution mockups
Notice different placement of buttons, Revolution logo and different colors. Originally the glowing blue light was only for press mockups but once people liked it they made it stay. ![]() ![]() Nintendo Revolution controller mockups Notice shorter formfactor, lack of speaker, different button labels, color versions and different nunchuck connector. ![]() |

Why did the PS3 have 2 HDMI ports and three Ethernet ports?
What would three ethernet ports do? And why 2 HDMI ports? Also, the PSP could not have been fun to play, and would have had even less buttons than the current PSP. no. OT: I like these threads. |
