I've never thought about it, to be honest. I post quite a bit but don't make many new topics, so I haven't really contributed much to warrant being 'well known' really.

I tend to recognize people by their avatars a lot around here because this is the only message board I go to of such a big scale, so when avatars change it can be confusing, so it's a good thing they don't change often around these parts! :P

I've only recently become a member, so I'm sure there are very few, if any people who know me. But I already recognize a great number of people, mainly by their avatars.

I also know a few people by their names, which mostly happens when I see them post a lot in threads I frequently visit.

Exactly, and most of the times I just realize who they are, with the new avatar, because of the content of the posts.

being liked or disliked, recognized, or what have you here is directly connected to the things you say. if you didn't want to be recognized or to have your thoughts considered, you wouldn't post.

pretending that you don't care is a great way to disarm your critics, though. then again, if no one cares to recognize or mention you, you don't have any critics, which may be even worse.

i dunno... i go to message boards strictly for discussion. that isn't to say that some things can get kinda personal. but i really don't care. if there was an anonymous posting option i'd use it.

2) Creating an epic threat in OT
3) Being really funny

I've been on GAF for nearly 8 years. I hardly post any more so I doubt I have any name recognition. I've always had an avatar with Fett in it.

I used to post a ton in the gaming forum back in the Xbox/GC days. I remember epic threads with Gahiggidy.

Now I usually browse the gaming and OT. I usually post in cell phone threads or Zune threads.
