Im not one to get excited over stuff like this, I remember watching the towers go down and not understanding what it meant. Just very detached from the situation. But this for some reason feels good/comfortable. Maybe its cause I'm older and I understand it a little better

I feel the same way, and it's not because you're out of the U.S. I just dislike the pledge of allegiance in general, the end bit definitely was cheesy. I've lived in NYC my whole life btw and saw the towers smoking from my school when i was younger, saw them come down on TV that day etc. all of that. Even though this is great news I can't bring myself to be as excited as everyone else in here.

I know why everyone else is but maybe i'm just over it already. It's been 10 years and this news doesn't overshadow the fact that we don't belong in Iraq, which is the bigger injustice considering 9/11 had nothing to do with all that. But idk, i'm just not an 'america fuck yea' kind of guy I guess. Someone is going to take Osama's place and do more fucked up shit in the future so I'm not really sure we 'won' anything. The war on terrorism is as never ending as the war on drugs. Like I said it's great that we got a big guy down today but I guess i'm just too much of a pessimist/realist when it comes to stuff like this.

That being said I'm happy for people who feel they got justice today, for whoever lost a loved one and never felt real closure. Obama 'walking off like a boss' after the speech thing was lulz. It's always fun when Obama does something cool/has a fuck yea moment.
