Cris Collinsworth believes football will not be played until November :(

Cris Collinsworth had written on his website, footballpros.com, and tweeted that his best guess for the start of the NFL season was early November. Then there'd be a nine- or 10-game regular season, then the same number of playoff games. Collinsworth's point is an interesting one. He thinks the appeals court will side with the owners and the current lockout will stay in place. If it does, neither side will be supremely motivated to move; the owners will figure they've already made a strong offer (the March 11 offer) and will wait for the players to budge. But the players, on a tremendous streak in the courts right now, will figure they've made sound arguments in front of a mediator in Washington and judges in Minneapolis, and even if the lockout stays legal, their antitrust case will have a good chance in the Eighth Circuit. And the players won't blink until they start missing paychecks. Collinsworth saw it twice as a player, in 1982 and 1987. Man, Gus Malzahn is a damn good Offensive Coordinator. Good Job of keeping him on Staff, Auburn.

It's a solid system. Gas the hell out of the opposing College Defenses with No-Huddle, until they're utterly spent, then throw all over them for much success. Just look at the QB success he had with QB's at Tulsa, then Chris "Bum Shoulder" Todd at Auburn in 2009.

Cam's a solid QB, but he is as much a system-based success QB as those Spurrier/Florida, Texas Tech and Hawaiin QB's were. Carolina needs to start working on some No Huddle stuff right now, if they want to see some Pro Bowl-Calibur QB work in Charlotte.

Carolina should have tried to get Malzahn as OC, or at least have him come in and replace Mike fricking Shula. That right there will spell the end for Cam Newton.
