Luckily my friend joined right at 1.19 and I was able to catch him up to me.
This game needs level syncing if it's going to scale to the highest member.

Factors that determine all additional compensation (guild tokens, etc.) are the same as those for normal levequests. * One leve allowance will be required to accept the levequest awarded after the evaluation. * Completion bonuses added to the leve will be reflected in the leve details viewable in the Journal. So it might be beneficial now to only choose leves from a certain faction or two/ have certain card displays? Even the borders around the plates are factored in...so depending on how rewarding these special leves are...that could really change up how people view them.

Hrm, just logged in and the price changse on the NPC's in the patch notes appeared to have not happened.
Err scratch that, it appears some items went down in price on certain NPC's but are still old prices on other NPC's.

Looking at the roadmap downloads, while all this stuff looks and sounds amazing (wasnt expecting a moogle primal battle) I really dont think they're making a good decision to start charging until at least 1.21.

I really dislike the direction they are taking towards instanced content. I think abusing that kind of content (like having only instanced dungeons) will make the world look dead and will make it feel like a mere hub where to get/start quests, raids, etc from.
I remember Crawler's Nest where there were noobs chaining mobs to the entrance and everyone shouting to run away and zone. Well, that is surely annoying, but still makes the world feel alive; real. I could mention hundreds of examples like that, which could be taken against the heavily instanced world they seem to be aiming to. Plus, I must agree that paying for current content (especially knowing that everything will change in a year or so) could be too much. |

Increased Stability & Expanded Accessibility
FINAL FANTASY XIV boasts some of the highest quality graphics amongst all current-generation MMORPGs. Unfortunately, extremely high-end PCs are required in order to experience those graphics. Our new graphics engine will allow us to maintain a high level of graphic quality while allowing us to optimize the game for play on the PlayStation®3 system. ・Genre-leading graphics on high-end PCs ・Smooth gameplay on the PlayStation®3 system and similarly-powered PCs ・Fully customizable graphics settings to cater to a broader range of PC environments The new graphics engine will cause certain objects to display differently than they do in the current version. Because of this, we will allow all current players the opportunity to re-customize the race, gender, and appearance of their characters upon the implementation of the new engine. <-- Luminous :P |
