Not bad for such a low-key release, exactly the same opening as the NDS spin-off.

Suikoden Tierkreis --- 62,835 / 155,777 (Famitsu numbers since it debuted out of the top 10 in the Media Create chart).

Quote:
02./00. [PSV] Gravity Rush <ACT> (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2012.02.09} (¥5.980) - 43.462 / NEW
Very encouraging figures.

Nice Gravity Rush numbers! Hope it have decent legs. Sucks for Vita hardware, though. <10,000 numbers are coming pretty soon.

edit: I thought Gravity Rush's initial shipment was 30,000.

I thought everyone kept saying the initial shipment for Gravity was only 30k? This is pretty good news but unfortunate that it did not seem to interest non-VITA owners.

Vita is really trending down dangerously. With nothing noteworthy at all in the horizon, and probably the only worthwhile title coming out anytime remotely soon being Persona 4 Golden... it's not going to be good for Sony at all.

Man, MK 7/Mario 3D Land and Tri G are pretty stable. Impressive.

Good for Gravity Daze, I like what I saw of it. Hope Revelations will keep up. And I'm surprised about Inazuma Eleven. Should reach 400k in about two or three weeks.

Nice numbers for Gravity Rush.

But Vita hardware sales went down... PSP outselling Vita again.

And PS2 outselling 360!

Pros

Suikoden sales are promising, hope Konami brings it west
Gravity Rush sales are higher then I expected, glad to see it selling well
Rhythm Thief, Resident Evil Revelations, and Inazuma Eleven continue to show legs

Cons

Vita hardware sales
Tales of Innocence and FFXIII-2 fell off

Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of people predicted something like this, but to see it in action is still pretty surprising. Outside of the random Famitsu reveal, is E3 the next event that we should see big Vita announcements?

Maybe it just wasn't sold to push systems, new I.P and all that, no 'casual' factor to bundle with the hardware (even though it apparently uses the Vita hardware very well)
Hopefully the good word of mouth and DLC will give it some legs

Good numbers for Suikoden and Gravity Daze. The 3DS's major games are all doing well too. And Mario Kart Wii just won't die.

Vita hardware though ... yikes. No boost from Gravity Daze, and there's nothing in the next few months that will help much either. Unless something changes I'm just going to stop updating this chart.

Wii hardware is also pretty dead but at least software is still going. 3DS hardware still strong, no surprise there. Also PS2 got some random spike! Sold better than the 360.

Considering on PSN 1500 people rated the game (c'mon, how many people rate the games they bought?) I would say there are pretty close right now. This is a great success.

Eveyone who wanted Gravity Daze already has a Vita it seems. I'd be really surprised to see it on the charts next week. 50K LTD would be decent for such a game, yeah?

Vita dead in Japan, not being sold in Australia... can't wait to see Sony's ambassador program.

Sony need to break out the money hats and get some kind MH on the platform by the summer. They also need to get a redesign out before the end of the year and remove the bulk and turn it onto a slider format so it is more pocket friendly.

I've been arguing for quite some time that the Vita's biggest problem is a lack of quality games. Weeks like this are starting to convince me that price might be the bigger issue after all.

Nice to see Gravity Rush doing well. Vita needs some push from sony, game announcements and such, 3DS and PSP are the better choice atm so logical to see it behind them.
But i do not see sony rushing things, so i do not expect major changes in their policy until e3

Vita dead in Japan, not being sold in Australia... can't wait to see Sony's ambassador program.
...DO you think a game opening with 44k will do only 6k for the rest of its life? XD
It has even a chance of doing 100k LTD, at this point.

Wasn't 3DS scraping the bottom as well for most part of 2011?

EDIT: or the Wii Soul Calibur Adventure? how much did that do in Japan?

Gravity Daze numbers are decent considering. I wonder how it would've done on PS3 instead?

Holy shit, I'm glad you are not running Sony.

The 3DS never went this low but even if it did it always had the promise of Monster Hunter, Mario Kart, and Super Mario 3D Land on the horizon. What does the Vita have?

Where exactly are the other 56K going to come from, exactly? The fact that Vita hardware dropped during its launch indicates that it isn't attractive to people who don't already own a Vita. Those 44K are likely the people who bought a launch unit solely for GD (I will be one such person in the states).
