Very happy I picked this and Tales of the Abyss up for my 3DS. Have a CPP....
I must say despite all the "LOL that thing is UHG-LEE" the thing got, its actually quite comfortable. Wish it worked with every game to be honest. The dual circle pads are great. More impressed with the CPP than the Vita's twin stick setup, other than the fact Vita's are standard |

Thanks guys. Beat him.
By the way, the Luigi camo is pretty effective. Edit: Is there a way to restore suppressor/silencer strength?

Nope. Just collect them, or wear Desert Tiger camo.

Nope, you can shoot them across multiple playthroughs. However, it is probably still easier to do them in all one go, since you'll lose track of which ones you did and didn't shoot.

And as long as I keep dying in boss fights on Extreme because my inputs are lagging behind about a second due to the horrible framerates (THE FURY I'M LOOKING AT YOU...actually every cobra boss fight suffers from framerate problems) then the other versions with more consistent framerates will always be better in my mind. Also peaking. No peaking makes this arguably the worst version of the game as far as sneaking goes >_O To the guy wondering about Guy Savage, don't worry, I'm almost there! I should be able to confirm within the hour. |

Not to mention if you go to quickly save the game, you could end up in a 2 minute conversation with the save lady. Game is definitely not designed for "on the go" play. However, the 3D and gameplay improvements make it a good choice for a version to play when not "on the go".

Took a little longer than expected, but I can confirm that Guy Savage is not in this version of the game.

To be frank, who says it couldn't be done? |

No, because the battery would die before you were able to watch the other half. Sleep mode does not mean infinite battery life :)

Save immediately after the torture scene and quit to the main menu/soft rest/whatever. Load up the game and boom, Guy Savage.
Only works on the PS2 versions though.

I've been thinking about this. Perhaps it reads your internal clock, seeing how "quiting" a 3DS game is as simple as Home Button + X?

Regarding down the sight aiming, all they need to do is ask which eye is dominant when you play. Then, line up the sights based on that eye's position when in first person. I did that while messing around with Modern Warfare 1/2 in 3d Vision, works great.

Niiiiice. I was thinking of doing a Yoshi run myself now that I've done the zero kill/alert/LM + sub 5 hour run, but eh. Does the game track and somehow show you which Yoshi's you have and haven't shot yet? I know they carry over, but it seems pretty pointless if they don't have a little Yoshi icon pop up on the pause screen map somewhere telling you if you've found it on that particular map (or something of that nature). Oh and hey, is there a unique Yoshi for every time you go through a previously visited location? Eg, is there a new Yoshi every time you revisit Grozny Grad? I never did a Kerotan run in the original version of MGS3 due to it seeming too tedious, but due to the portability it's seemingly easier to put up with imo.

Also, the game doesn't seem to track how many you've shot and where, even on repeat playthroughs. So, you're right; it is useless that they carry over. |

What an amazing game.

Honestly, I just used the SVD and kept reloading my save until I hit it. The resolution combined with the really bad deadzones on the 3DS and frankenstick (respectively) made that one the Hardest to hit in the entire game IMO.

I also used the SVD. It's hard to describe, but there's a part near the beginning of that sequence in which EVA stops for about 5 seconds, near the downed tower, before she begins to drive towards the tower. If you shoot it right then, you'll be able to actually HEAR the Yoshi sound once she drives by it. That's the only way to be 100% sure that you hit it. Otherwise, you just have to trust your vision, and see if it moves. |
