I love Max Payne as much as the next bullet ballet/pulp-noir aficionado... but no, that All-Star Battle Royale discussion thread is delivering and then some. Someone practically made the assertion that Super Smash Bros invented the four primary colours to establish each player in a battle, and that Sony stole the concept for themselves. Sorry, off-topic.

Good trailer, although the song itself is undeniably the highlight.

So I've been listening to Health's other music and I'm really diggin it. Their sound is a perfect fit for a game like this. Thinkin about orderin up a couple of their albums. I've been listening to "Tears" for the past two mornings getting ready for work during which I feel like I should be slugging back whiskey in a depressed daze while crushed up painkillers lie on my bar table waiting to be blown.

I'm just hoping for a Steam pre-load. Imagine those 35GB when there's a million other users downloading as well? Hello 3kb/s

Between ps3 and 360, if I like both controllers equally and all that, which version should I preorder? I'm leaning towards 360 judging from RDR and GTA4 but LA Noinre's PS3 version was much better. I haven't followed the development of this game at all so I'm out of the loop...

Will the PS3 version take advantage of the BD's capacity in more ways than simply offering the entire game on one disc? Will one version have better audio, or worse textures or frame rate?

1 - PS3

2 - XBOX

If the PC version has 35 gig install, I wonder if the PS3 will have a mandatory install and how large THAT will be. Hopefully it wont rival ME2 and Binary Domain for longest installation times.

If you have the choice and knowing how R* games on PS3 have come up short in certain areas i would go with the 360.

Just seems like your usual game trailer made better due to a decent song playing over it. See also: that Dead Island one everyone went mental over.

Yeah and then we all went mental because the game wasn't half as awesome as the trailer. At least we know R* delivers.

This is all in-game, though. That Dead Island trailer was just a slick cutscene that had next to nothing to do with the actual game.

It's because R* didn't officially develop it. They just lent a hand to Team Bondi and gave them some direction and advice. MP3 is really their first true release since Red Dead (which makes the wait even all the more payne-ful)

Sorry for doubling but..

Here is a link to an article on HEALTH plus four free downloads off their first album. Now, I'm going to assume they're writing all new material for Max Payne, however the track "Perfect Skin" (about 40 seconds in) sounds like something that should be playing as you're either running down a hall in bullet time mowing guys down, or bursting into a room with a shotty and blowing people away.

Personally I'm going with PS3. Don't really feel like swapping discs and I enjoy long installation times. It gives me a chance to take a dump while reading the instruction manual, which has been one of my favorite pasttimes since I was a kid with a fresh game.

trailer was pretty meh. Just your typical game trailer.

The whole "follow the bullet in bullet time" is so cliche, and while i understand that it's a major selling feature of the game there are better ways to do it. Killzone had a much better example of its use.

The editing doesn't have anything noteworthy, feels just like any other game trailer, right down to the fade to black cuts, the gameplay then cutscene formula used in almost every other blockbuster title, the random slowdown's etc.

While the music choice was good, ie it's not some overused pop rock or rap song, I feel that it's not really appropiate to the game, it doesn't set up an really context for the game or the tailer.

and finally I feel they're also relying to heavily on "makers of gta 4 and red dead redemtion" to sell the game. Why not mention its pedigree?

Rockstar knows how to do trailers though, the koyaanisqatsi gta4 trailer was marvelous.
