Did you have two clients to choose to download from on your account page during beta (Tera & Tera 2)? I did and I think that might be the problem. Might have to get customer service to merge them.

Also, I was knocking out some of the BAMs by Eldritch Academy last night. It's apparent that SM gear is not ready for taking hits from them, ha. Even while blocking, I would take anywhere from 2k-4k damage. That means he was hitting for at least 8k+. So goooood. |

So I decided to get the game last evening,to take advantage of the Pre-order stuff and got the e-mail that confirms I did, with the goodies I am suppose to get by going into the Claim Item,Account item in the game but nothing showed up last evening and now I just checked again this morning before heading out and still no mount or anything...
I get a little pop-up window when I start the launcher that says it couldn't find one of the .exe(emeversioncheck. something)but I just click ok and the game starts fine...maybe that's why? I also chose to take the last OBT guy I had, which was Tera 4 and apply the Standard Edition to that account and it change from Tera 4 to Standard Tera... Some guys in general chat said that it could take 48 hours till I get them,so I will wait till tomorrow before calling them up(or chat). You guys got your Pre-order stuff right away?

It's literally impossible to say - if you like to PvP, go with VoT. If you don't enjoy it, roll on DF. One thing I will say is that, if you spend some time going back through the thread a bit, you'll see that people haven't complained too much about crazy ganking. And some have brought up the fact that the PvP is skill based so it changes the way you would typically associate with MMO PvP systems. |

I've only died twice on VOT.. first time got ganked crossing the lumbertown bridge... just ressed and jumped into the water and continued questing. Second time there was a... 4v3 PK vs PK killers fight going on and I got to close and got one shotted by some AoE attack.
The only other time I've done any PvP on VoT was when two PKs at 16 jumped my 17 slayer... lets just say... <3 overhand strike. |

There are instanced raids coming, and if you played the game you would know that even without them the content is more than plentiful. Personally I don't really know how they'll work instanced raids, single party stuff is crazy enough as it is.

Oh man, fighting BAM's is so much fun. (I am assuming the nagas are BAM's) Just the way the combat is so viceral and having to constantly move for posistioning. It's different then jumping out of the fire in WoW, but I dont know how to describe it. Almost soloed one (Lvl 24 Slayer) but died around 8 cuz of his stupid rear back.
Fighting in groups though is sex. |

Just had a look at some videos and I am interested in giving it a shot, but I am concerned about lag and the need to time attacks/dodges/blocks.
Are there any aussies playing or those with similar lag that aussies would experience eg 500ms? is the game viable in laggy conditions? Cheers |

So hard to settle on a class, they're all interesting with very different play styles. I've narrowed it down to a priest or a sorcerer. Priest is great for duoing with the lady and for groups. I really like how active healing is in this game. But the sorcerer is just explosive fun. Magma bomb is probably one of the most satisfying spells I've used in a while.

I made it about 50-75% of the way to 42 but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue leveling at this pace. It's time for me to get back to my regular schedule, but I would hate to fall too far behind the rest of the people that I group with. BAMs dropping golds was a nice surprise and I hope that trend continues.
If you're having a problem with a gank squard or certain individual(s), there are multiple channels per zone, speed scrolls, and instant cast mounts that make it very easy to circumvent. In addition, the only real penalty for dying to an outlaw is your pride. You die, resurrect back to town, hit up a teleport NPC, and you can pick up right where you left off or go seek some vengeance. The PVP system still has its problems (level and gear scaling, safezones, etc.) but the foundation is good and EME is commited to building on that based on community feedback. CBT2 was filled with trolls and gankers but they are nearly non-existant now. I can't speak for other PVP servers but the community on Valley of Titans has far exceeded my expectations. I expected a cess pool but was greeted with one of the finest communities I have ever experienced in an MMO. Finding a good guild will definitely make or break your experience, though. After playing on a PVP server in TERA, I can't ever go back to PVE. I would feel like I'm missing out on half the game.
Not sure if serious.

There's no content cut at all. Blood was removed from the last beta and will be patched back in soon. Elin's were censored a little bit more meaning you can't see their exposed stomach or thighs. Other than that it's the same game. The first patch is this Thursday.

This can be completed by going to your account management page. I posted a link to detailed instructions earlier in the thread. |

Make sure to change the "Lighting Enhancement" setting to "1", found in the Video tab of your Options, if you are forcing AA outside of the client. A setting of "2" will enable software based AA that makes everything appear blurry.

Warrior tanks can do quite well, but this is the part that sucks. As a Lancer, I have to move the boss around a little here and there, but I try and keep the movement predictable (mainly because tanking in a corner is STUPID hard with the camera...learning some tricks to it, though).

You get all those nice equipment bonuses for attacking from the enemy's flank but you will find yourself constantly running around to get there with a Warrior tank. Sometimes it can be annoying and sometimes it can make things more fun.

So, uh, is this article correct in stating that only the US version of Tera has had the leveling curve flattened?
http://www.gameranx.com/features/id/...ca-and-beyond/ On the one hand I am totally looking forward to D3, on the other hand playing this for a month, and until the D3-online only bugs have been ironed out, seems oddly appealing. |

To me, leveling doesn't feel any faster than it did in Korea..
This game was never a grind fest, even in korea. I took a priest to lv 45 in the KR version.. I think at 45 I had about 10 million exp to get to 46.. but I had story quests worth 1 and 1.5 million each.. and area quests worth 400-600k.. leveling was never a grind.. at least nothing like Aion or god forbid, L2.

Third Day Impressions.
First about combat bunnies and anime school girl battle maidens. If you got this game and hate those things bad on you. If you haven't gotten the game and hate those things then think twice. Crazy costumes, girls with bunny ears and fluffy tails is part of the world. Sure you can make a bad ass Amani-demon-kill-god but when you group you will be hanging out with Pappy the Slayer kitty and Cutey the Elin Sorcerer. Love it, tolerate it or leave it I figure. ![]() The combat is the real hook right now. Dodging and weaving in and out of combat, having my actions be more fluid and responsive to the enemy. I love not talking about the best chain of abilities, they're pretty straight forward and you get your own rhythm going. You don't see a mob that may con orange or red to you and just walk away, you know you have a shot at taking it down if you play your cards right...and take your time. Besides the combat they didn't take any great leaps in innovation. Crafting, questing, kills and classes are pretty rote at this point. You know how to craft pretty much right away if you've played any of the blockbuster MMO titles. They do do a good job at removing some annoying things like having to find crafting stations, mailboxes ext. I love that I can play with a controller. Little odd at first but not that hard to get used to. Having the cursor jump to the buttons for quests would be nice. I've tried every class thus far to at least level 11, basically at the point you leave nooby island. Sure the classes evolve but i wanted to get a basic feel for them. Sorcerer: One of my favorites so far. squishy yes but the damage output is great and you can dodge and run around. Warrior: As they this seems to be the hardest class to get used to. i love the feel but getting in sync is tough Lancer: The toughest by far. The only class where I've died. Several time in fact. I have a feeling they get better and are group focused but solo you have to be methodical. The block is a little bit misleading. Sometime you take zero damage and other time you'll still take damage. Slayer: Roll around and stabby. Fun quick class to play but not tank and spank. Mystic: Fun diverse class but I think the pets are retarded. Seems like wasted time, effort and coding. This the one class that's very different from the others. Overall I enjoy my time but I can see this game getting replaced in the near future. They just didn't push the envelope enough for me. I'll dabble here and there and hell maybe at later levels I'll fall in love.

EDIT: Forgot to mention your controller binding reflects your hotbars so changing anything there will change your controller buttons as well. I think you can drag actions directly to the controller UI (which shows up on the screen like the hotbar and can be turned off) but honestly I've never tried.
