Dang it. I was going to hold off on buying the Walking Dead game on steam because I wanted to wait for them all to be released first. They've got me even more interested in it now than before, though... Must be strong.
I would have grabbed Asura's Wrath already if they would just price drop it. Ryan hit the nail on the head with the not worth $67 thing. Granted, I haven't played it myself, but everything I saw in the quicklook looked amazing, but not worth the asking price. |

The online scene for UMK3 on DS is/was fucking savage. Really solid netplay and straight up killers on it 24/7 when I played. The only thing that was bad was the graphics, the resolution was messed up or something.

I don't know.. I get waiting for a price drop because it's got to drop, but I didn't really feel any buyers remorse. I don't mind supporting crazy stuff like Asura's Wrath at full price, I'm actually glad it hasn't just lost it's retail value a few weeks after release.

The turnaround on Asura's Wrath from the first time it's come up on podcast and even the QL is quite remarkable.

Very happy that Patrick loves The Witcher 2. Curious what he thinks of Chapter 3's decisions. |

Whenever they talk about The Witcher 2 it almost seems like he's not even there. I mean, he tends to drone on and on about how amazing some good and great (but not amazing) games are, but The Witcher 2 (a genuinely amazing game) comes up and it's like he enters a coma. And when they were talking about releases, he continuously ignored Patrick's mention of it and kept saying nothing came out since ME3. Granted, the game came out a year ago but it's a big update on PC and a new release on 360. I just don't understand him. |

If someone doesn't play a game, it doesn't exist for them. I wish one of them got into Binary Domain, since I think it's the best shooter in years, but I doubt even Jeff played beyond the quicklook. It's whatever random thing that grabs them at the time.
One real problem I've noticed that with reviews they cover most of the big titles, and Alex reviews the dreck, but stuff that isn't as prominant, no matter the quality of it, gets a quicklook and done. Some don't even get a quicklook. |

It's nice for them they don't have to cover The Sims expansions, but it also means they skip interesting B-games now and then. Coverage of AAA stuff is always the least interesting, as everyone plays those games anyway, and those are covered by every other site as well. |

I enjoyed Asuras Wrath a lot but what really stuck with me more than anything was this song:

I wasn't planning to play it till I heard this section, so I'm okay with it. (I also didn't realize the first episode was five dollars.) |

idk man, shitting is a bit of a stretch. I don't know if they've genuinely shat on it during another podcast or something that could be coloring their comments on this one. But they just kind of made fun of the name and moved on.

They only hinted at something later on, but they weren't even terribly specific when it came to the events they covered within the quick look's content. It was more a discussion on the direction of the game down the road, the controls/interaction, and having a well developed protagonist (but without specifics).

-They said the multiplayer sounds dumb. This is a valid opinion. I, in fact, share the same opinion, although I am welcome to being shown I may have made an initial misjudgement at a later date, and I'm sure they feel the same.
-Jeff doesn't care about God of War. This is also valid. There is a great many series of acclaim he doesn't care about. If you're not used to this by now... well, get used to it, otherwise you'll go insane. No hate. |

I'm not sure why as IMO it's the biggest release of the week.

Obsidian devs didn't get their royalties from Bethesda for working on New Vegas because their metacritic score was 84 and had to be 85 and above. Bethesda published both Brink and New Vegas. Giantbomb gave Brink two stars. Brad: They (Brink devs) may have sold two and half million but how much of that did they make back Jeff: Yeah, what did their contract look like Patrick: Also its less dependant on sales and like Obsidian pointed out, dependant on your metacritic score Brad: (sarcastically) Yeah we should go see what the metacritic for Brink was Patrick: My guess is that it was not 85 Jeff: Uh NO Ryan: So you're saying it was not high enough to get their bonus Patrick: That seems to be the - Brad: We saw to that. awkward pause and uncomfortable laughter Brad: I'm kidding. Screeching halt on that one. Jeff: Jesus Christ, Brad.
