Hows the load times?
I like playing Umvc3 heros and heralds mode, but the load times are stupid. (load) stage selection (load) character selection (load) battle (load) stage ...etc. The laod times aren't bad, but the amount of load screens is just stupid.. seriously. The stage and character select just is a bunch of 2D images. what the hell is the loading for???

Load times seem the same as the PS3 version to me.

Yeah, a 3 gig download on my 360 takes about 15-30 mins. On my PS3 it takes half a day. On my Vita, though, it only took an hour. Not sure what the hell is with the PS3, but it's always been that way for me (across numerous PS3s).

Yeah, this is easily in my top 3 Vita games released so far, between this, Disgaea, and Lumines, combined with some other Vita games, and PSP games i've yet to play i'm set for atleast awhile.
Really hope that if we see another MK released, that this is successful enough for NR to push for another Vita version, maybe one day get a sequel to Shoalin Monks or something. |

Problem is the screen grabbing tool doesn't really do the game any justice, did you miss this thread, http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=472067

I gave this one a shot yesterday as well and, as expected, it looks much better on a real Vita than it does in stills. You can certainly see the lower detail levels in play here, but during the fights, it manages to feel very authentic and still look great. It's only during close-ups that the lack of detail becomes more evident, but even then, it's hardly a deal breaker.
It's a solid but not spectacular port. Tons of content in there, of course, and it plays just as well as the console version. |

My initial expirience with MK:
Looks and feels great. I booted up and went to training mode first to try and test some of my combos. I was pleasantly surprised how easy they were to pull off (slightly easier than ps3 pad) Issues began: I went to the Online mode and chose wifi.. it froze on the initial loading screen. I closed the game and reopenned. Then I went to challenge tower. The loading logo kept spinning and spinning (for 5 minutes). Shut the game down again and openned it back up.. Challenge tower works .. havent tested the wifi again. First issues Ive had with any game so far on vita Still love it though |

Yeah, the close-ups look bad even on the Vita and are absolutely laugh worthy in still shots.
At the very least, I was hoping they could have hit native resolution with this game. I could detail with the lack of detail if it were cleaner. Even still, this is an awesome portable game. Never bothered with all of the challenge tower stuff or really anything besides the story and those elements are proving to be fantastic for portable play.
Quote:
The models and backgrounds would look so much better if the textures were sharper. The loss of geometry wouldn't be a huge deal on a smaller screen but those blurry textures are just awful. Considering Vita has more ram than the 360 and PS3 I find this surprising. I can't help but feel that they cut things down as far as they could until 60 fps was there and didn't bother trying to work some of those details back in via optimization. The textures at the very least should have been a focus. Of course, between the heavy usage of video eating up cart space and the need to keep loading times in check, I could see a case being made for cutting them. The loading times are fine as is, but if the texture detail were cranked up it may have taken twice as long to start a match. I also noticed that the FMV sequences have very minor scaling artifacts for some reason. There are vertical lines throughout the image that appear at intervals. For comparison, here's Kratos in Soul Calibur PSP ![]()

I got the game via the "Trade 1 Get MKVita"
First off, the characters are "okay". The load times are okay (better than UMvC) as well. However, I'm having a blast so far with the story mode and the challenge towers are nice as well. The controls are the highlights of this game, it's really easy to pull off moves. |

It seems to me like they put too much effort in making the backgrounds look like the console counterparts. If they cut down a bit on all the shit going on in the background they probably could've run the game at native resolution and/or improved the character models. Whatever though, the game is functionally sound and the Vita dpad is godlike for fighting games.
Oh yeah, that was freakin hilarious. |

I'm personally a bit disappointed after my purchase today but it all has to do with the graphics. Granted, I do have myself to blame a little bit for not paying more attention to the gameplay videos released, but a lot of Vita games so far look better on the Vita compared to seeing them on your computer. More so than any other handheld platform.
IGN's review says it faithfully recreates the console experience graphically with some "minor" issues if you look closely on the characters but I feel that's being way too kind. The poly counts are much lower, and I am not quite sure why they were unable to do normal maps on the characters. They look phong shaded. It barely even looks like they have specular maps and if they do they are very low resolution. Comparing this to a game like Uncharted and Uncharted looks way, way better despite having to draw bigger scenes. I know MK Vita does 60fps but even so, I'm still disappointed and I believe that the Vita deserved a better port. What FPS does MvC Vita run at? It looks WAY better even though I know it has such a different, stylized look. Just thought I'd chime in for anyone looking to buy it. + MK just like you remember it with all the DLC + new tower. - The graphics really are nowhere close to the consoles (-) There does seem to be some bug when starting the game causing my Vita to reboot once but then it worked fine. |

no itīs not a glitch.. you need to do the moves that are listed on the screen during the fight, and THEN finish him..
