Has anybody experienced problems playing a Qanba and a chimp board in the same system.
All of my sticks are chimps, a few friends have Qanbas. I've run into the problem that my stick works fine, until a Qanba is plugged in and then mine disconnects. I've also randomly had my stick not work on different consoles. It's really frustrating to get to a tourney and have my stick not work. :/ I had it happen at EVO (that REALLY sucked...luckily I brought a backup TE) and a few recent tourneys all with different sticks, same boards. |

I thought a Hori rep already confirmed that over a month ago??? It's going to be the Fighting Edge no doubt. People can forget about getting the Blue Diamond VLX in the US, though. That's an Amazon.jp exclusive and they'll have to import that joystick if they really want it. P.S. -- I hope we can put a Seimitsu LS-32-01, -40-01, or -58-01 in the Fighting Edge. The problem is that there have already been comparisons between that case and the old Astrocade Style HRAP 1/2/3 cab Hori's made for almost 10 years and the Fighting Edge case is roughly 2/3 to 3/4 the heighth of the Astrocade HRAP case. Ouch! Tight squeeze. |

I DEFINETLY plan on getting one of those new Hori Fighting Edge sticks. The Buttons/stick is a concern. Especially the buttons. Since the 360 verison has those horrible green/blue/red buttons that dont mix with the black/blue aesthetic. Hope they are easy to replace.
Everything else ? Im sold. The Levelup video SOlD Me on it. Able to save your button layout? The handles ala the TE Pro? Want. |

The US Hori Store is now taking preorders for the Fighting Edge. $200, pay up front, get your stick starting 6/25.
Still torn on which version to get - it makes more sense to get the 360 version if you plan to dual mod, but I think the colored buttons on the 360 version break the stick's aesthetic style. |

My HORI SCV stick is acting strange again. on the 1 player side. Down back, and Up back won't register at times. This happened before and I swap out the sanwa stick with a spare one I had. It was working fine for a few months, and now its doing it again. I got bad luck with HORI sticks. Going to dual mod my Dreamcast stick and get some pink buttons and balltop. Need to get a new VSHG as well. My baby took a beating over the years....

Silent Sanwa parts have a release date, but I'm not sure if it's public info so I won't say anything until I know it's been announced.
Also, I don't remember if I shared this. Recently when I went to Tokyo I dropped off a special gift to Capcom's Ayano-san and Ono-san. We worked with arthong to make some special versions of the Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick V.S.! Hey guys, I got some questions!
So I've been playing a lot on my HRAP3 with sucky Hori buttons and I now have the money to order some buttons. I live in the Netherlands and was wondering at which shop I should order. There's this dutch shop, jwlam.nl, but that store has some insane delivery prices. Plus, they're going down the 1st of june. Delivery time isn't an issue, as long as it doesn't take months. Second question: my friend has a HRAP V3-SA and I find his joystick to be much more.. precise? It seems to feel.. clickier. I don't how to describe this but it just feels better. I was under the impression that it's the same joystick as my HRAP3. I like it better than my joystick and I was wondering why. Thanks! Arcade sticks are awesome. |

Magypsy,
I know of two choices that have decent selection in Europe: arcadeshop.de in Germany and GremlinSolutions.uk .... I've dealt with Gremlin and they're good guys. Very friendly and helpful. Either Sanwa or Seimitsu is good. Most people get Sanwa because the buttons are more popular and match the Hori shades closer. Others prefer Seimitsu because Sanwa buttons have the tendency to prematurely fire --- they're that sensitive! Seriously, either Sanwa OBSF-30 series or Seimitsu PS-14-G are good. I wouldn't recommend the Seimitsu PS-15's because they are very stiff (like pounding bricks to me) unless you change the microswitches out with Sanwa SW-68 microswitches... I've also heard negative stories about the screw-in Skeleton buttons, too. They seem to be a bit sticky/stiff. I guess who you deal with may depend on the exchange rate... I understand the economy's probably worse in Europe right now and the recent French election has thrown things into more chaos. ***** Wow... Markman's Capcom friends have got to be happy/super impressed with that joystick! What an outstanding customization job! That one's a keeper!

Pulled out my VX-SA (first edition) yesterday only to realise being in storage is apparently all it takes for the front to start peeling off. Anyone got a link to art template? And a means of printing something that'll stick and survive usage ... in Australia?

I read somewhere a few days ago that Fuudo won Evo last year with a stock Hori HRAP3. Is that true?
I saw that he was using a HRAP3 during the coverage last year, but I just assumed that he had swapped out the red Hori buttons with Sanwas of the same color. If that's true, then it just goes to show that the arcade stick components don't make the player. Everyone talks about Hori's stock buttons as if they are complete ass. I have a HRAP3 stock right now (been using it for 2-3 years), and I am waiting for the Sanwa buttons that I ordered last week to arrive. I want to swap them out because Sanwas do feel noticeably nicer to me, but I just thought that it was interesting to learn that the most recent Evo champion was using stock Hori parts. Don't a lot of Japanese players just use whatever sticks they can borrow when competing internationally because it's a pain to travel with their own sticks? |

Tournaments are typically crowded with custom Hori's and Madcatz TE sticks, but are there any top players out there rocking some cheap-o or outdated stick? |

great service and they were also fast with their shipping. I'm from the Netherlands so ordering from Germany was a bit easier and cheaper. I'm going to buy from them again, once I know what parts I want for my stick. |

I'm still waiting on my Sanwa buttons to swap in for my Hori ones on my HRAP3, and I wondering whether or not I should consider ordering an octo-gate as well.
Do they really make a big difference? I never play charge characters in pretty much any fighting game, so I'm always doing QCF and QCFx2 motions. The most common execution error that I run into with my current setup (square gate) is that I get Shoryuken motions to come out when I'm hurriedly trying to do QCFx2 motions for Ultras and the like. |

Sounds like it's just a matter of preference then. The only problem that I've ever had with my square gate is double QCF motions coming out as Shoryukens, which never occurred on American machines for me. I guess the only way that I'll ever know whether or not it's for me would be to try it. |

I would actually recommend beginners starting with octo-gates, and moving to square later. The fact that gates are very easily switched out should allow everyone to come up with a preference. |
