The Making Of Sorcery: Technology

The Making of Sorcery: Technology YT Video

Quote:
This is the first post in a four-part series from the development team about the making of Sorcery. In this video, we talk about how artists, engineers, and designers at The Workshop designed the game to take advantage of the unique capabilities of the Move controller in order to create a completely original spell-casting experience. While some motion-controlled games feel like you’re playing “Simon Says”, the gestures in Sorcery are fluid and organic. Aiming spells and chaining them together into powerful combos requires both creative thinking and quick reflexes.

It does look like fun, hopefully the combat holds up for the entire adventure.

This only makes me depressed. All these people working incredibly hard developing new technology. Only for it to be an udder failure that reaps in bushels of hate.

Crap like PS Move Heroes and Deadmund's Quest deserve the hate. Sorcery doesn't though and it's one of the reasons I bought a Move bundle about a week ago.

Medieval Moves deserved to sell 10x more than it actually did, so I hope Sony markets this game much better.

Being on-rails kills it for me. Would probably be a good-great game if it gave you more freedom.

I think the problem was that it had a really short development time, simply because without it the Move lineup would be too barren last year.

But yeah Sony needs to market Sorcery big time. They've invested a lot of money into it, it is accessible for kids but still looks like a fun game for the hardcore too and from what we've hearing has great tech implemented for move.

Looking forward to picking this up along with PixelJunk 4AM. Great seeing Pete in this clip but then again he used to be my boss ;).

Cant help but think that they should have released their first version of the game last year maybe on psn if the game scale is not too big, then make this as the retail sequel with bigger scope

Tons of cliche buzzwords in that video, ugh.

Still excited for the title, but jesus this industry needs to lay off the hyperbole.

It's a pretty good month for Move games actually: Datura, PixelJunk 4am and Sorcery. All three look good.

I'm sure Sorcery will do pretty well over a long period rather than rocket out of the gates. I can see the game getting bundled a lot over the next couple of years.

Game looks great. I really need to buy a wand.

And the soundtrack sounds amazing too.
