So they used the Vita just to be noticed? WTF ?
I found this kind of practice repulsive...

I don't think the changed thread title is adequately summarizing the OP.

Clearly this is not just about the game slide, but also about the 8 minute gameplay trailer that says the game is only coming out on Vita.

Pretty silly of Sony to latch on to anything that suggests a game might come to Vita. If Sony wants it on Vita they should work with who ever the current publisher is
I get the impression the OP wants us to take this as another sign that the Vita is going to die a horrible retail death by Christmas. Sony will shed tears and go out of business.

All because something was incorrectly placed in a slide when there was no publisher for it on Vita. This is barely thread worthy.

How many gameplay trailers have we seen for vaporware that hasn't seen the light of day? This isn't really concerning. Sucks for the people who were looking forward to it though.

If that was all that happened that would indeed not be threadworthy.

Now if a game is announced for one platform (let's call it platform A), then switches to another platform (let's call it platform B) while people anticipate it on platform A that's quite shitty.

And when Alan Wake dropped the PC-compatible symbol from their pre-release media people were outraged. I understand that this is not Alan Wake, but the principle is the same.

Why not just port ACIII? :/ Ubisoft, start making sense...

I don't think the Vita could realistically handle AC3 without major compromises.

Wouldn't the tread title be better as "Alien Spidy not coming out for Vita as announced".

And this is why there have been so few PS3/360/Vita multiplatform titles announced. Well, in addition to apparent publisher/developer disinterest in the platform, anyway.

Yeah. That would be a thread title change that I can get behind. Not the misleading current one.

This is why you don't trust logos on a screen before launch. A game is Vaporware until someone from outside the developer or publisher gets to play it.

That's too bad, it looked like a better fit for a portable game than a PS3 game to be honest.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if Unity even supports Vita at this point (almost certan that it doesn't) so it was to be expected they wouldn't be bringing it there right now.

Hmm, it's actually pretty easy to understand what happened:

1. Developer (Enigma) pitches game to Sony
2. Sony thinks this is perfect fit for Vita, considers publishing, advertises it
3. Third party publisher (Kalypso) picks up and signs title for PC/Steam, XBLA, PSN, not interested in Vita
4. Kalypso gets to post a PS Blog article, tells the honest truth about what went down (1.-3.)
5. NeoGAF thread created
6. Spidy

...

7. Kalypso releases Tropico 5

Yep. There'll undoubtedly be a fair few Wii U titles "announced" at E3 that we'll never hear about again.
