He says in the OP he needs a good d-pad. Why recommend the 360 controller?!
The new one with the silver twisty spas, what's wrong with that?

It's not really much of an improvement and the d-pads seem to have a problem with breaking off now.

I just use this.

Mostly because it works with my PS3 as well.

I used to use Motionjoy, but it fucked up my wife's computer and I still haven't gotten it fixed (messed up her logitech wireless keyboard\mouse drivers).

It's kind of interesting seeing how different motioninjoy experiences are. Count me in the camp that think it's garbage. It took a lot of effort to get it even work for me and I also think it did a weird # on my computer. Edit: I also found a lot of the documentation to be incredibly out of date and thus nearly useless, but that might have been my own failure at googling.

So uh, does MotioninJoy work for most PC games? Or do you guys just use the pad for Emulators...

Umm, I didn't have to do anything. Just used whatever drivers were recommended when I set up the wireless dongle, and haven't had a single issue since.

You can emulate a 360 controller with motioninjoy, so it will work fine with all 360 controller compatible games.

When I used it, it worked perfectly fine. I was able to play Madden 08 with my DS3 acting as a 360 pad without a problem.

I know OP said wireless, but I still think this is a great choice. I grabbed this thing on a lark because it was $12 at the time and I was growing frustrated of dealing with motionjoy bullshit for my ps3 controller, and I think I actually like this controller more anyways. The whole controller feels nice and sturdy, with a dpad that feels solid, and the cable is really quite long.

For problems, there are really only two: the drivers seem to only be on snakebyte's website, and just the EU one at that, which is stupid. The other is that some games won't recognize it with just it's official drivers, but that only means you will need to use the x360ce emulator for those games, which is easy.

Anyways, that's my experience so far with the thing, and I already use it for ps3 games that don't need sixaxis, since L2 and R2 are solid buttons instead of being those shitty, mushy triggers on the regular ps3 controller.
