Amirox meltdown was hilarious, and particularly epic because of the detective that looked through his shit.

And from the times when I was a lurker, the Vasper 007 thread provided some of the best laughs of my life.

Ravi Drums and the Nintendo E3 2008 was also hilarious.

Unbelievable, I love this one. What a colossal idiot this guy is, boasting condescendingly about playing his games on a fucking HDTV of all things to be envious about lol, while being caught in a lie over perching his Xbox on a subwoofer! And then to claim it was a WINE COOLER of all things haha, just amazing.

I hope this guy is still around, although if I were him I would have joined the French Foreign Legion or something and never went near the Internet again.

Death of the Dreamcast. Early 2001. It wasn't just one person melting down it felt like more than a third of GAF was absolutely losing it at the same time. It was beautiful *sniff*. Made me a committed gaffer

Oh wow, I remember this. I forget how everyone acted, but I remember that the thread wasn't as epic as that narration. It was around E3, I think, so shit lasted around longer than it should have. Still, it was like utter chaos after that FF 12 announcement. All the 360 board was freaking out and "gloating" I guess one could say, while the PS3 board looked like it had just like had someone in their family died or something. I can't tell you how many "fuck Sony, fuck the PS3, I'm done with gaming" threads there were that day, or week for that matter. It was a real shit show.

Another hilarious thread:

GAFer relates a story in which he ate a handful of prunes and decides to go for a run. While running, he has to take a massive shit in the woods. GAF then proceeds to :lol and relate their own shitting stories. One story involved a member shitting in a shower at some day camp and having to force his fecal matter down the drain before someone came in.

Holy god, just writing that out has me cracking up. Definitely one of the funniest threads I've ever read here.

That's... not what I meant. I meant that people found his style of argumentation grating, which was exasperated by the fact that he was a mod, giving him a position of authority over others that they felt made challenging him a more difficult and risky proposition.

For what it's worth, I think Ami made a big mistake with the lying, but I've always appreciated that he takes strong stands and defends them vigorously. I disagree with him much of the time, but he's got dialectic balls, which is more than I can say for many I've known, online and off.

One of my favorites was the guy (had a Ralph Wiggum avatar back then) who posted about his first gay experience. He when full throttle and let the other guy pound his butthole. It was only after said experience that he realized he wasn't gay.

Probably the Amir0x demoding thread, as I was there from the beginning 'till the end. I think it was the only non E3 thread where I kept pressing F5, shit was just so exciting. Too bad most of it was deleted when the higher power came.

A) Ami is still here, so I don't know why some are speaking of him in the past tense.

B) I was speaking of Ami in a more general way. As I said, I disagreed with a great deal of what he said (though when he was right, his takedowns were spot-on and damn funny), but I appreciate that he thinks what he thinks unabashedly, which is what made his attempt at lying all the worse. And no, I'm not easily impressed IRL.

I could swear this isn't the first time this has happened. The other time was at least 2 years ago and was revealed by a mod checking his IP address. Any mod recall doing that?

If it were just that I might agree it was overboard but Aztrex was always promoting a "13-year-old who says shocking things so people talk about him" personality.
But he was in his mid 20's. The guy was a wank and deserved the life lessons he received.

There's that and then there's being a condescending, insulting, hyperbolic antagonist. He got away with personal attacks no regular user would (EviLore basically admitted as much). Don't know why that would be admired.
