Get Inside Her!

Yep that was definitely a scene with purpose. We've known Olivia will die for ages, and right there they gave us the loophole. I'm guessing she'll regenerate or resurrect part of the way through season 5, then lookie here, we've got the whole gang running around together again in the future, un-aged.
I'm guessing that she can't die in the next episode though, she's gotta have that kid first, yeah? Though... do we have total confirmation that Etta is actually her kid? I don't remember if that was made explicit at any point. She could die in the season finale if it was all a red herring, and Peter had her with someone else. |

Sure, they hinted the hell out of it! Presumably a cortexiphan parent would even explain why she can negate the Observer's powers! AND YET (as far as I can recall) they never once were explicit about who her mother was. If it's made to be "obvious" but they never actually say it, one might think that it's obvious on purpose to be misleading.

Lots of surprises in this episode. Someone else has already pointed this out, but the Mr X logo was on the friggin nanite. It's gotta be related to how Olivia "dies". Belly with the surprise appearance. Nice that they kept that under wraps. Olivia went full on Kinect Fighters Uncaged and unlocked some achievements playing as Peter. Dammit that Astrid took a bullet, but she did bust a Kung Fu kick on someone and shot another baddy. She's no lab rat, I knew she had latent skills in her. Next week looks epic!

They did a damn good job of keeping Nimoy under wraps. Nice to have him back.
Overall it was an odd episode. It didn't even feel like too much of a setup for a finale either. Not great, but not shit. Just meh. It just feels more disappointing after how fantastic the last two episdoes were. |

Setting Bell up as the villain is somewhat disappointing to me. It seemed obvious after the future episode when Walter sawed his hand off that they were not treating him with any respect because he did something bad. However, it does seem like an intriguing setup for how the Observers will come to power.
All the same, I can't help wondering if this season would have been better concluded by putting the future episode as the season finale with this episode and next week's leading up to it. |

When the girl said "can you give me my phone" I thought it was going to be another Sprint placement with some video conferencing or some shit... surprisingly it was an iPhone& a jailbroken one at that!
But the chick could've been like "you know they offer sprint on iPhones now?" and I wouldn't have been surprised.. |

I started being worried the second Jessica told her to look her up if she ever needed to skip to the front of an emergency room line. Too much foreshadowing potential.
Bell actually appearing was a pretty big surprise--I assumed we'd never see Nimoy in the flesh again, so that's awesome. And Bell will heal Astrid. I refuse to believe they're going to kill her off. Preview thought: We see somebody ringing a damned bell again; does this mean Bell's activating Olivia's powers as a precursor to Bellivia mode? She has historically been the one wou could link both universes without outside interference... Maybe Olivia gets shot while possessed by Bell, to save everything? Still can't work Etta into that timeline, though, unless we get a regnant miraculously expedited by Cortexiphan in the finale. |

Seeing Bell back was cool. I figured he'd be back, but wasn't sure if he'd be back you know... for real. I thought the biggest bummer of the episode was that DRJ's death was rather underwhelming. Didn't think that was handled too well. I don't know this whole episode had a weird feel to it. Seeing some of Olivia's other powers was cool, yet kind of weird. I'm sure Astrid will be fine. It was a good episode though. Well bring on the finale.

However, is they have Mirror Spock set up as big bad for season 5, then I am happy to deal with his death. |

I think his body was just so unstable (still, from the season one teleport) that when he got electrocuted, that was it for him.
