As far as spending $14 in tips, we were just imitating the regulars since we didn't have a clue.

It kind of surprised me as well, I brought $80 with me and was worried that wouldn't even be enough, but during the first hour, when we were just watching from afar, we watched those up at the stage tipping $1-2 dollars per dance, so we did the same. In fact we broke a $20 bill getting a couple of drinks and all of the change was in (very crisp) $1s. We spent maybe 40 minutes up at the stage, saw 7-8 dancers, and tipped most of them. After the song they'd bend down to collect the money, chat with us a little, thank us, and we were never made to feel like cheapskates.

It was the intent of this thread to talk about something I experienced that I think a lot of people wonder about, but, like my wife and I, are unsure as to what to expect, and are perhaps scared to try. Since some seem to have taken offence at my description of a couple of the dancers having a "bad attitude", I'd like to clear the air a bit. Having never been to a strip club before, my wife and I didn't know what to expect. As I mentioned in the OP we sat on a bench away from the action for most of the time we were there to get a feel for what's allowed and what's expected. There were probably ten dancers in rotation, and eight of them were extremely friendly, they'd chat with us between songs, smile at us while dancing, and put on a great show. You could tell they really enjoyed what they did and were fantastic. For them, stripping was just part of their act - and so this is was what we came to feel was 'the norm'. But there were two who you could tell just fucking hated it. They didn't want to be there, they didn't want to look at you, they were just selling a product, and if you weren't going to pay them up front for it then fuck you. The one who walked off in the middle of a song did so with her middle finger in the air. One of the dancers who was chatting with us actually apologized for their behavior, further reinforcing our impression of them as having a bad attitude. As for the last paragraph, it wasn't intended as a brag, I guess it was meant more for other couples who've been together for a long time are are looking to spice things up a bit.

We'd been talking about visiting a strip club for a long time and finally got up the guts to do it. I wanted to go merely out of curiosity. (And anticipating what would happen afterwards!) My husband and I seem to have widely different ideas of what's sexy in a girl and I figured a strip club would be a good place to see what a guy really wants. After seeing the girls do some things that I've always thought looked ridiculous, and getting tipped for it, I'm more willing to try those things myself.

Anyway, my husband's at work, so if you're curious about my take on things, I'll be checking in once in a while.
