I would love to, but not everybody lives near "a real deli". This is a common problem for people who live in the suburbs and not in a city. Cities are packed to the gills with good local restaurants (as opposed to generic shit chains) but I'm not driving 20 miles to get a sandwich.

You know what sucks about living in the south?.... Or... You know one of the things that sucks about living in the south?
I can't find a decent pastrami sandwich to save my life. I went with my family to NYC, and we stop in this little deli. I get a pastrami sandwich, and my life was changed. It was beautiful. So juicy, so full of flavor. I've tried everywhere around here but it just isn't as good. I went down to Miami, and by-chance ended up in a sandwich shop there. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and it rocked my mind. New York and Miami both know how to make them, why can't anybody in between? It makes sense when you go the country and the meat tastes better. It's because the cows live right next door. That hamburger you're eating was chompin' on grass like five minutes before you got there. It's fresh. That's logic. So why is it, that the pastrami sandwich can only be accomplished in a metropolis? Was it decreed at some point? Was the deal, "We get clean air and you guys get good sandwiches?" If that was the arrangement, we got goddamn fleeced. Good pastrami is better than oxygen. It doesn't seem like it should be that complicated to make one. You got pastrami and you got bread and your what-nots somewhere between them. It shouldn't take a 4 year college education to get that right. /rant. |

Agreed.
Bring back proper cheese placement while you're at it; don't tell me this doesn't bother anyone else? It's shaped like a triangle, each piece is supposed to be rotated to lock together perfectly you lazy Subway employee. /\\//\\/ NOT /\/\/\/\ Bring back the Subway wallpaper (it used to fascinate me as a kid) and the stamps as well. |

Old Cut was superior but I think it took longer and they probably actually had to train the people on how to do it.
I thought the old Subway wallpaper was great. It was part of their identity but now they just have bland white painted walls. That guy from the article issuper angry about the gourmet breads. |

Q. Why no sweetcorn?
A. Due to the recession we had to cut costs, it was decided that sweetcorn was unneeded in Subway and by doing so each store saves £3000 nationwide. This means we don't have to fire any staff. Wish I hadn't bothered asking. :I Subway is way overpriced. I only get it when it is convenient. |

Eh, I just get flatbreads now a days. I haven't had issues of stuff "falling out," too much because it's like a burrito. *shrug*
Also I remember the old cut and while it has the advantage of stuff not falling out, it also was awkward to hold" the cut out piece of bread on top of the sub because they had to make the bread huge. That's most peoples issue with it I think. |

Also, whatever recipe Subway used for their bread in the pre-5$ footlong days made it taste like crap. Whatever they switched to probably saved them from being forgotten. |

The point of the switch was (apparently) to save time when making the sandwiches and to make it easier to train people. Providing the option would be better for the consumer, but would defeat the purpose of the switch from their business perspective.

With that said, the old cut is nice and that's generally how I cut them when making them myself. |

I hate the smell of Subway. Everytime I eat there, I end up feeling like I've spent my time there rubbing their sandwiches all over my clothes, its awful. They used to be awesome in the '90, but something changed, now everything taste the same.
