Yes, but you have a long time (2 years) and they'll let you know before they do.

Given that you're new to the thread, make sure you note that this is mostly exclusive to the US Club Nintendo, not European, Japanese or Australian.

The expiration period is between two to three years to be exact. They last for two years plus however much time remains in the Club Nintendo year in which you earned them, which runs from July to June. This, coins earned today would expire in June 30, 2014, unless you spend them by then.

There's also the Elite Status to contend with. That expires every year and is a reward for earning a certain number of coins within the year. This only depends on coins earned, not coins held, so you can spend as much as you like and still get the same status. For the best bonus, you want to be earning at least 600 coins each year, so there is sometimes an incentive to not register stuff until the next year. The reward for this is a free mystery gift. At 300 coins within the year, you get some desktop calendars and at 600 you get something exclusive and fun. Previous Platinum prizes (for 600 coins) are a plush Mario hat, Doc-Louis' Punch-Out!! on Wiiware, a Mario and friends figurine and a set of 25 Mario themed badges.

I finished Pictobits. Great concept but it requires way too much hand eye coordination and touch screen precision to play it properly. I can't even count the number of times I tried depositing a bit but the touch screen ignored me for whatever reason, or I tried depositing a bit but ended up depositing it in an adjacent tile and then inadvertently depositing three more bits in three adjacent tiles, or I tried depositing a bit but a different color bit came out than I was expecting because I apparently picked up an extra adjacent bit by accident, or I tried depositing a bit below a megabit but accidentally clicked the megabit instead and sent it down too quickly, or one of a million other bad things happened due to the game's faulty/overly demanding controls.

Yesterday I e-mailed Nintendo after I moved all my DSiWare to my 3DS. Since I never linked my old DSi to my Club Nintendo account, I missed on registration on those, so I asked Nintendo if they could register my games so I can back them up in case I lose my 3DS. Well, today I checked my account and ALL the games were registered! They were even registered yesterday according to the date. That was quick!

I also got Pokedex 3D registered (which I didn't before since I linked my 3DS after I downloaded it) and I got the Registration Survey. If I get the Post Play surveys for all my old DSiWare, I'll have tons of stuff to fill for the next CN year.

Thanks a bunch, Nintendo!

Depends on if you're saving up for something. The game's $5 and worth that price. I spent the 150 coins and don't regret it. Great puzzle game.

There were no first-party DSi-only cartridge games, so no DSi-only cartridge games have inserts. If you link your account on the DSi to your Club Nintendo account, yes, the games you download from DSiWare will count. If you're asking if you can use the DSi Point cards on the 3DS eShop, then the answer is no.

If I Redeem Coins for a Reward, Will I Lose My Elite Status? Answer: No. We add up the Coins you've earned each year from July 1-June 30, and we don't subtract the Coins you've used. You can use your Coins to redeem rewards throughout the year without impacting your Elite Status level.

Do Coins Expire? Answer: Yes. Unredeemed Coins expire after 2 Club Nintendo years (July 1-June 30). When logged in, you can view your Coin Balance with the account information at the top of the page. See Terms and Conditions for more information.

did you did all your after play surveys, they take a week to appear? you have 2 or 1 years (do not remember) to expend the coins and you can use them all if you want , they don't affect your platinum/gold status if you use them

only old coins expire , check your account it tell you how many are going to expire in the coins & status section
