and here we go again :)
skills and enchanting/creating: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqzdWaSSklc "Rob Cram shows off how skills work and other customizable bits and bobs. Yeah, I'm curious about that as well. Since some of the skills are locked, and you have to buy them, does the 'Skills' (etc) page show every skill you can get on your character, or will more skills be added to that list at higher levels?
There's a good deal of Sword and Staff skills, atleast, but not a lot of Core skills, or Augment skills -- I'd expect more of those kinds of 'buffs/spells' in a game like this. I really hope there are more skills ingame, either in the form of scrolls you can find or unlocks at higher levels. |

In this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t6-mQUB3F8 at 1:25 there is a mage skill called "High Anodyne". Description says "An advanced form of Anodyne ...". I didn't see Anodyne in this video. Also the blinking "New" at the skill leads to the conclusion, that not all skills are visible and have to be unlocked (level? vocation rank?) first. |

I didn't see anything overly difficult. He was taking out those sorcerers pretty easy. If he hadn't stopped to resurrect his pawn, he could've spent more time interrupting spells. Also a super slow ass big sword probably isn't the best choice against nimble enemies.

According to Capcom Unity they just got word of Game Informer's review and it got a 8.5 and Silver award for the month of June. My guess Max Payne got Gold.

So I guess you get a few more color options at the barber shop in town
And my tiny tank is gonna get wrecked by wind spells.

I don't think you can use your edited characters in the demo. Mine didn't work either but it showed up some text that said "you'll be able to use your edited characters in the full game".

You can use them in the demo. The Arisen and pawn you use in Countryside Quest are the ones you create in the character creator. If you didn't create anyone it just uses the default characters.

Other than being able to carry stuff, I'm really not seeing how being a bulky guy is beneficial. Like, I did the demo as a huge guy and was wondering why you guys thought it was so easy. Then I made a skinny guy an shot the griffon down and killed it within the first time it was down on the ground by just comboing it to death then grabbing onto it and sticking it to death.
With the big guy, I just kept getting winded trying to get to it and it never felt like he held it down better than the skinny build I used. |

According to those rob cram videos were able to recreate and re edit our main pawn and Arisen so if one were to create a skinny dude but wanted to turn him to a bulky bro to better fit the warrior class then you pay the price of 5000 rc for some metamorphosis elixir shiz.

Just got back from paying it off @ one of the local Gamestops. The guy working there was pretty into the game, started talking up a storm about it with me, said he LOVED the demo etc etc etc. Supposedly, they got ~ 30 pre-orders after the demo came out, and that store is sitting at ~ 80 pre-orders total (cross system). Was pretty excited to hear that.

I can't take all these new videos. I feel like time is slowing down so much waiting for this and Diablo III. It's not fair.
That's amazing to hear. I don't want Capcom to be discouraged from taking chances with games like this in the future. |

^Magick Archer should have some dagger spell things... At the very least, we know about Sunburst. There probably aren't any traditional spells for far away, though. You'd have to use a magical bow for those.

Will be weird to play a class with "archer" in it without a bow

No, only Striders, Rangers, Assassins, and Magic Archers. Fighters are only sword and shield.
Just so you know, the Magic Archers Bow fires magical bolts instead of arrows. They even lock on to enemies too.

Just played the demo, now whilst waiting for Minecraft.
Before, I was ecstatic about this game. Then I heard it wasn't going to be online/system-link/split-screen coop or versus... Then I watched some videos of the game in action and began to see things like behavior in enemies and completely natural strategies to take on different types of enemies EXAMPLE Then I was back to being ecstatic. But that anticipation seemed to lower after playing dark/demon's souls and not really "feeling" the combat. With all of the comparisons being made, I assumed I'd not like this game's combat either. Well, I am happy to report that I was completely wrong and I will certainly be picking this game up at launch. The character creator is great, the graphics are great (Despite limitations) and the combat is AMAZING. The atmosphere is equally as engaging and honestly, the only drawback I can see is with the UI (Which can be turned off IIRC, and I hear you can turn certain portions off one by one) I own a GTX 580 and plan to upgrade to a 680 very soon, but I found the overall image quality of the game and it's artstyle fantastic for a console game. And playing on the PS3, despite what people seem to be saying, it felt relatively smooth and VERY responsive so I didn't really care too much about the framerate. As long as it's not affecting my movement or aim, and I don't notice it too much, it's A-ok with me. Let's all support this so we can eventually get a PC port and a sequel! |
