Great casting. I'm sure Andre can play guitar decently but it's kind of irrelevant. It's pretty easy to mime guitar playing with a bit of teaching.. it's not like he's going to actually be playing the songs. They'll just use the actual music.

To be honest though, Jimi looked a lot older than 27. I think he could easily be played by a 30s or even 40s aged person with the right makeup.

Well I don't think it's going to be an issue either way, but it's probably one of the reasons they didn't cast someone like Lenny Kravitz who - while he's aged gracefully - is still approaching 50. One of the most depressing parts about Hendrix's death is just how young he was when he died; he was only in the limelight for 3-4 years and still left an enormous impact.
