Okay, for those of you in the Mumble server, I set up the rooms so that multiple groups can sit in different sub-channels and communicate amongst themselves, but if needed, every channel can link to each other so everyone as a whole in the DayZ channel can communicate with each other (i.e: for mass groupings, events, bandit hunts, whatever).
This avoids the problem of people having to move mumble channel by tabbing out so often and such. Instead, feel free to type in game or msg me to 'link' the channels if something must be said. Thanks for the help Nabs!

Oops, should have linked it in my original post. This one.
Also, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about making the OP so I figure I might as well - Max and I are working on a makeshift OP to help organise all the helpful tips, images, and possibly impressions that people have been posting into one convenient location. |

If I were in charge of BIS right now I would immediately green-light this mod for a stand alone game, running on the Arma 3 engine, yay for fully explorable buildings and better animations. Then when Arma 3 releases switch over the alpha/beta from Arma 2 to Arma 3 to help boost sales. Then when Day Z is fully released give players who have bought or buy Arma 3 a discount to pay like 20 dollars for Day Z and then 40 dollars for whoever just buys Day Z alone.
This way Day Z gets to be a fully stand alone game, but they can still capitalize on it and use it to get more Arma 3 sales but not force people to buy Arma 3 just for a mod/addon. Which has a decent chance of happening since AO doesnt require Arma 2 to run. |

Same, the lack of explorable buildings is kind of a major issue for a Zombie survival game, both from a scavenging and exploration perspective to the ability for players to in the future take control of buildings/areas and fortify them and create player communities or bases. It really hurts the experience when you know all 5 building types that you can enter and then ignore every single other building type. The world is too lifeless, so hopefully that can be improved in the future with new features like painting and other abilities for the player to interact with things and in Arma 3 with so many different building types being fully explorable.

Ended up only two of us left, the other guy kept passing out from blood loss, and eventually died in a fight at a barn, I had no ammo and could only watch from a distance as three zombies ate him up. Once they finished and wandered off, I went back to the barn, got a shotgun, rifle and some ammo and logged out. It's now 5am and I need sleep. |

Belh, had an Alice Pack, Hunting Rifle, Revolver, Compass, Watch, tons of food and ammo. 3 canteens of water and got picked off by someone using a shitty pistol, didn't even see him.
I was low on health from accidentally falling off a ledge earlier b/c of some glitchy movement. Sucked, almost caught up with this boat I was tracking, ready to snipe them if necessary. |

Maybe, but a lot of the limitations of the Arma 2 engine are pretty glaring. Like I said in another post, the lack of fully explorable buildings is and will only become increasingly problematic. Plus the full retail version at best probably wouldnt come out until a year from now if not longer. Thats a long time for people to upgrade their rigs.

Yes, they probably like that they're drawing attention to ARMA with this, but what's better than a decent franchise? A decent franchise and a very popular franchise. Do them seperately. |

Doubt it, we saw him log in too a bunch of times. I heard Newell just recently say in an interview that he basically doesn't have time to play any games and when he does it's Dota 2. Only reason I can see it actually being him is if he's wondering why Arma is climbing the top sellers list and is trying the mod out.
