Fastest moving and fastest stopping. You aim by dragging the stylus around while pressed on the screen and move the camera by flicking so it should never interpret aiming as camera mevement. At least, it never does to me.

Because it has crippling bugs that they haven't been able to fix, I assume.

Specifically, something happens to corrupt your save so that the game hard freezes after every level. You can turn off the system and turn it back on and you can play the next level, but you have to do this every time. Happens to a lot of people but apparently not everyone? May be related to going online and connecting to the leaderboards.

I corresponded with one of the main dudes at Shinen and their publisher, sent them my copy of the game with glitch intact on the save file, they said "huh yeah you're right, it's got problems, but we don't know why or if it can even be fixed."

I assume with the ability to patch 3DS games is soon to be available they may be able to fix the problem if they decide not to be lazy.

In other news...

Time Travelers is releasing on the 3DS/PSP/Vita in Japan on July 12th. No word on a localization at this time.

http://www.level5.co.jp/news/20120508_01/popup.html

I wish all of these Level-5 3DS games would come over. I have a Japanese 3DS but I don't know Japanese and wouldn't be able to enjoy them since these have a story to follow. Time Travelers, Little Battlers eXperience, Time Travelers, etc. Also, what happened to Fantasy Life? :/

I'm going to order some 3DS games online now in preparation for my purple 3DS purchase on the 20th. I think I'm gonna go with: Mario 3D Land, Cave Story 3D, and MGS3 3D. Any reasons why I shouldn't get any of these?

I had Cave Story 3D, you are better off downloading the cheaper version from DSiWare through the eShop. Get Mario Kart 7 instead :D

Yeah I was reorganizing my bookcase full of games just last weekend and noticed I had quietly amassed 12 3DS games and I'm looking to buy about five more before the end of summer. If more games start going all digital though that'll probably quiet down something fierce.

It's actually more then my PS3 and 360 library combined.

Yeah... But at this point, I'm refusing to buy eShop games on principle. Not being able to tie purchases to an account is absurd.

Me too, I've got around 16. I wish I had DOA instead of SSF4 but I still enjoyed it...none of the rest I regret at all. I wish I had more time to play some of them though. Still haven't touched my $5 Steel Diver and Pilotwings from Best Buy. :P

That would be amazing. Even F Zero X given the OOT / Star Fox treatment would be great.

OOT 3D is good, but if you've played it to death previously, like me, your results may vary. I'm just not motivated to finish it, but then again I was trying to do both this game and Skyward Sword at the same time. Burnt me out. RE:R is good. Looks beautiful. But it's not really holding my interest (it doesn't help that I used this as a game to show off the system to my buddy and that deleted my save. Have to start over... gah!)

Since we're in a software slump it's a good time to check out older titles. I picked up Star Fox 64 yesterday and I really am loving it. Star Fox translates well onto portables with its pick up & play style. The 3D is really good, graphics look great too, much better than screenshots imply. Heck, even the gyro addition (optional) works great because it's supplemental and isn't too sensitive (and recalibrates easy). It's probably my favorite 3DS game behind Mario Land 3D. It's a great introduction to the system and what it can do.

I haven't picked Kid Icarus yet. I suppose that's next on my list. But that control set-up and stand worry me. Next paycheck, probably.

You can easily ebay it for that amount but if you want to be sure, you can pretty much just ask the clerk at the store if you can use his backroom to do a transfer, with both systems plugged in.

I asked my EB Games clerk if he'd do that and he was like yeah man that's fine. He knew about the system transfer thing though, so...

KI:U + 3D Land, imo, but if you really want Revelaitons, go for it. It seems to be a hit with most classic RE fans.

3D Land and OOT3D are probably safer bets than KI:U, but I posit that KI:U is a better game than either.

This wouldn't work unless the store had free Wi-Fi that you could access. System Transfer requires being connected to the Internet.

There's not enough Asphalt 3D love in this thread.

It's an absolute steal for the price it's selling at, and it's got some of the best use of 3D I've seen in any 3DS game to date.

I'm beginning to suspect that GAF generally ignoring it is a result of it being published by Gameloft. If it said "Valve" on the box, there'd be people lining up to cream themselves over it :(

It's just not... very... good. It was another lazy port by Ubisoft at launch day. You want good 3D, go for OoT.

Probably because you can get a better version für 99cent on every current-gen smartphone.

I'm not even like a huge Ridge Racer fan but it's a much better game.

When Asphalt was new on the DS 8 years ago it was a pretty good game, I liked the car customization, but since then it hasn't cut it.

The reason I purchased it was because it came free with my Xperia Play and I enjoyed it on that.

Contrary to popular belief, it isn't just a straight port, and is quite clearly superior to the smartphone experience.

Of the 14 3DS games I own (inlcuding OOT) the only game that's come anywhere near it in terms of play hours is Kid Icarus. And quite how people can prefer Ridge Racer to it I don't know... Asphalt as a flat out driving game just "feels" better.

This is the same game as Asphalt 6 on iOS, right? If so... ugh, it's terrible. I beat it on my iPhone but I really don't know why I bothered (although I did get the phone and the seperate HD iPad version for free). Terrible physics and handling. iOS GAF goes nuts for it but Burnout it is not. What's different about the 3DS version that makes it superior other than the 3D effect?

I really hope the things improve after E3 in terms of games. Mario Tennis and Heroes of Ruin are the only thing on my radar. Yet I can't get excited by Mario Tennis though. Maybe if there was a demo it would do the job. Need to see if my Best Buy has a demo unit since others seem to have it.

I guess I could track down a copy of Samurai Warriors Chronicles. I have wanted to play that but don't want to pay full price for that at this point in time. Just iffy on how it really looks since there is no real direct feed video of the game.

Edit:

Okay trying to decide between these three. Any idea which has the most content?

Nano Assault
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy
Star Fox 64 3D

I can't speak for Nano or Ace Combat, but Starfox is a blast. Seems better suited on a handheld as it's a great pick up and play game with branching paths, and the best 3D I've seen on the system yet.
There's a local multiplayer mode as well, but it's blah.

Are the branching paths always clear? Or do you need to meet requirements for them for the game to let you know about them and for you to even use them? Was never clear on that.

Glad I decided to pick up a used copy of Star Fox at GameStop today instead of buying the game new. Don't like how it controls at all. People talk about Kid Icarus hurting their hands, this is the game that is hurting my hands. Starting to remember why I never got into the series in the past and don't own a single Star Fox game. Tomorrow or Friday (when I can get back to the store) it's going back.

Do you guys like to buy your games new or second-hand? Is there any obvious disadvantage of buying second-hand games?

Because I am thinking about adding my 3DS collection with 3 new games: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, Tales of the Abyss, and Harvest Moon Tales of Two Towns. I must admit, however, since I need to import all of them if I buy new the overall cost will end up hurting me a bit.

Only disadvantage for Carts would be the fact that sometimes you can't clear the Cart back to base settings. I'm much more willing to get a used cart based game though as most of the time they don't have this problem. Plus they can't get scratched to hell and back.

PS: Really hope we get Fire Emblem ASAP after E3. I'll get that day 1.

Star Fox hurts your hands? I don't really see how... the game play is basically an analog nub with a shoot button. Seems like every 3DS game would give you the same problem in that case. Maybe try turning on gyro to supplement your analog movement?

Now if you said SF IV, THAT game hurts some hands haha. Sorry ya didn't enjoy it but I think Gamestop offers used game returns within 7 days so at least you're not out anything, 'cept maybe gas.

Just finished Star Wars Clone Wars. It was worth the $8 spent, but it wasn't amazing or anything. The 3D wasn't really great either.

I've had Kid Icarus since it launched but only played the first stage. The ground combat being so hard to control kinda turned me off of it and I played Clone Wars instead. I guess it's time to give KI another chance >.>

Amazon doesn't do international shipping, does it? I'm in Indonesia.

I am buying two games: Tales of the Abyss and Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars for around $53 dollars. Don't know whether this price is good value for those two games or not, but hopefully I can find them to be enjoyable for many, many hours.

Sorry to hear that Effect. Have you considered getting a grip for it? If so, I recommend the Hori Wheel; it makes playing the 3DS sooooo much more comfortable. There's a thread about this subject if you wish to consider other options though. I have put in over 100 hours on SM3DL, Zelda Ocarina and Revelaitons but could not have done that without the wheel/CPP.

Anyway, just a suggestion :).
