Good job RTP, Wolfpack, Devils and Tarheels.

Even my high school home, Davidson County is keeping it close.
Well, let's see how things are looking.

Orange County: 21% for, 79% against. Hurrah!
Sampson County, where I grew up: 80% for, 20% against. Well, I can't say I'm surprised.

Meanwhile, looks like the amendment is going to pass. Goddamnit.

Moved down here to the Raleigh/Cary area in late 2010. I went out and voted against the amendment today, but unfortunately it looks like it has passed. I sometimes forget how much different this area is compared to other parts of the state it seems.

I'm in Fayetteville, which seems to be for the amendment.

Raleigh and Cary are one of the only places in the state that feel like a northern city.

*sigh*
I hate this state (for many reasons).
At least my county voted against it.

Yep. I graduated from Duke about 8 years ago and then moved to Washington state. The Triangle is like New York South. The state is becoming more and more liberal, but it will only continue if the tech jobs stop leaving the state.

That's part of the reason I moved down here. I was sick of the snow in Cleveland, and as a software developer the job market was not that great. I have mostly only good things to say about the area since the move. Actually looking into buying a condo in downtown Raleigh in the next month, as I am sick of renting. Other than my family/friends I don't miss the greater Cleveland area of Ohio at all.

I can't see this on my iPad... What does Meck county look like?

I was holding out hope for an upset. In my little urban bubble I see nothing but opposition. Even the conservatives have those "vote against constitutional amendment" signs out.

If you've lived in a DC suburb most of your life, and then lived in hicksville, nc, you'd see the similarities.

Meck is against (county I was born in), and Orange is against (county I'm currently in), but by god, most of the fucking state is for. I'm fucking incensed about this.

If it doesn't pass, it won't bother me too much.

Progressive thought always wins out in the end. It just means that NC doesn't want to enter the new millineum, but eventually when their children grow up, it will be passed when it comes up again.

It's embarrassing. I do love NC. Back when Obama took this state I felt like we had turned a corner, so this one stings. The language of this proposal is very strong. Surely there will end up in court...

Yep . . . this issue is dead. Even Pat Buchanan knows it. All you have to do is look at the trend lines and the outcome by voter age bracket. It is only a matter of time basically. Some people will fight the future kicking & screaming.

To be fair, it really didn't help that this went to vote in a primary, if this went to vote during the general election it would of probably been closer.

Voting for Obama would have allowed you to vote for this lol.

Obama hates gay people too at this moment.
