I like my new iPhone but have no idea how people play games like this on it. I can't even get my guy to walk in a straight line.

I don't mind playing certain types of games on my Windows Phone, but I was really regretting having purchased PLATFORMANCE: Temple Death on it a long time ago. That game is pretty unforgiving, and playing it on a touch screen just isn't a fun experience. Awesome game, though.

How awesome of id to make the iPhone version free today. I'd downloaded the demo a few days ago and had far more fun that I thought I would. The framerate is far, far better than it ever was on my 386, and the addition of a map makes navigating through the game all the more enjoyable. BTW, those having control issues, try using the control option that separates turning from moving. I found that one to be the best.

Anyways, there's definitely a soft spot in my heart for this game, and it deserves to be remembered and replayed.

One of the first games I ever played. Have extremely fond memories of it and have maps of many of the levels engrained in my head. Look forward to playing later today.

The game works via exactly that proxy. I just tried again. Although it probably doesn't work on every browser. I'm using Firefox 12. And it seems it also requires cookies being enabled.

Having a single button to toggle for strafing, making it impossible to turn and strafe at the same time was something I just accepted because I hadn't experienced any other way back in those times. Then Doom came out with Strafe Left and Strafe Right buttons while I used my mouse to turn. It was a complete revolutionary addition to help avoid enemy fire. It's a lot more difficult to avoid enemy fire in Wolfenstein because of the toggle strafe action.
