With CC I consistently have to monitor it in battle. That may be about it. Again, it may just be a minor preference. It's not like I frown upon CC. |

Based on the rumor of what's in Jump, it's definitely a new mothership title and there's concept art that depicts a modern setting (basically sounds a city, there's a train and a lot of buildings).
Wouldn't be too surprising if this is true, as they've been putting in a lot more sci-fi and modern day elements in Tales games since Hearts. |

Yesterday, I showed Graces F to a friend who used to be really in to Symphonia, and he said he preferred the TP. His reasoning was that he liked doing infinite combos and stuff using (b-)artes while refilling TP, something he can't do when there's a CC meter.

I told him that, especially when you get Accel Mode and your CC up to 20, but he still wants to do things infinitely. He's the kind of person who hates guarding and sidestepping, and just wants to wail on attack buttons.

With CC the length of dungeons basically doesn't matter anymore. You just keep going, with TP you at least have to somehow manage. In battle I pretty much don't care, there's other stuff that's more important than TP or CC.

With TP you generally manage by limiting yourself to regular attacks, which just creates for boring regular fights.

Ps: the people behind symphonia & vesperia merged with the rest of the tales studio so you might have hybrids like Xillia was .. As long as alpha system is not- in charge of the story i don't care much... Even i as a fan feel like the tales of saga should need a nice amount of time before another "mother ship" game
I always when all out in those games and never had a problem

Isn't that what you'd usually do in Graces? I usually play Tales games very amateurish, which means repeating a strategy that works over and over in CC based games (of which I only played Graces) and going all out in TP based games until I'm out of TP then try to manage for a while until I can go all out again.

I usually went in and modified my characters' skillsets depending on the battle, but I'm not sure if a lot of people did this. It's almost essential on Chaos mode. |

So kiryogi gonna take the next mothership OT yeah? Lol.
I'm thinking we'll get a follow up to the message from ToI:R, most likely a director's cut of Xillia. Probably a random game for the PSP/3DS/Vita. Lastly we'll get another mothership announcement that the game will come out next year. Probably. |

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Tales of Symphonia remake for the Vita along with a Ratatosk update to coincide with the end of the Symphonia OVAs.

Lots of the marketing had to do with the crossover costumes like Star Driver, the Ayumi Hamasaki costume that came with the single CD, and the preorder costumes. And then you have all those other DLC costumes like the swimsuits, the school costumes, etc.

On AnimeGAF. We were talking about Fandeath and Hito made me victim of fandeath. Rofl. Anyway, IF and only IF Xillia comes to the US I want to do the OT for that.

After Xillia, No Tales PS3 = fail
But we're talking about Namco, the softwarehouse who released main Tales exclusive games everywhere except for the platforms with their fanbase. Xillia is a 2011 game, and PSP is the only platform in this gen without a main Tales of game (a console where PS2-like games did pretty well and where Tales of Spinoffs: Radiant Mythology maybe humiliated every non-PS mainline title). So, the next main Tales of is for Mobage/GREE with a special remastered version only for 360kinect one month later. |

I want to write Jude's character summary, then, if Xillia gets localized/if kiryogi/Rpgmonkey isn't doing the OT. I'll try to keep it nice. Try.

I'd guess that at least one game (and if there is only one game, then the only game) will be a PSP game. Maybe also on 3DS/Vita, who knows. But PSP would probably be the lead platform.
PS3 seems like it would make more sense after Xillia, but the game was certainly in development well before Xillia released. Then again supposedly Namco did switch from Wii to PS3 with Xillia, so I guess anything is possible in that regard? Abyss (which was already localized) and Graces to shut fans up for a little while? Maybe 3-4 years from now we'll get a Symphonia remake and another mothership game.

I'm terribly behind with the Tales series....
I still haven't played a single one from the current seventh generation, not even handhelds... And yet they're announcing the fourth Tales for home consoles.... The last one I played was Rebirth and I liked it a lot! |

I think that they've been pretty good lately at acknowledging that the PS3 is where a very large percentage of their fanbase is (especially when it comes to Tales). They've recently announced that they expect to sell 6.9m units of software on the PS3 this fiscal year, which is only down from 7.9m last year when they had huge titles like Xillia, One Piece and Gundam Extreme. So it certainly seems like they should have something like a Tales lined up for the PS3 again.

Having been playing through Graces F with a full party of friends on Chaos, I can say that without a doubt, it has the most involved, fun, skill-based combat of any Tales thus far. I really adore the fact that the game encourages you to take advantage of your full repertoire of artes to dynamically tweak your combos based on each enemy's weaknesses.
