Personally, I've never found any Angry Birds game all that interesting. That changed with Space though. I actually enjoyed that.

My main point was that 1 billion is a big number, but not as significant if you can download for free, and the fact they don't release the paid numbers shows it's probably nowhere near 1 billion paid.

That's a lot of disappointed gamers.

Except Rovio is making a ton of money of Angry Birds.

As far as I know they still aren't posting record profits.

I didn't say they aren't making any profits now.

Toilet bowl gaming just can't compare to real gaming. I'm glad for those that enjoy this game but for me 2 mins is Max play time. Lol

[read it somewhere recently]

Angry birds - 1 billion download but 75 million revenue.

Mass effect 3 - 3 million retail copies but 200 million revenue.

Actually you are incorrect.

Miyamoto himself doesn't play all that many games, so he likely missed Castle Clout and its ilk.

Apparently updates count as downloads as well.

Nice to see the "It's a fad, can't wait for their bubble to burst" comments that have been going strong for 2 years. Here's hoping the champions of 'real' gaming spend another 2 years using the same argument.

Anyway, they need to be releasing these Space levels quicker. I need my fix.

Just because Miyamoto likes it doesn't make it good. If Miyamoto liked dunking his weiner in boiling fondue would that make it good for you too? This is some straight up fanboy logic.

I believe that if one of the most legendary and respected game creators of all time says that he enjoys a game, you kinda have to rethink your position on the game. I'm not saying you have to like it but just because you don't like something does not make it bad.
