There was an age gap. The rest of the cast was always dating each other so he was left out. He stayed on the show well after they all left and his dad mismanaged his money so he was left pretty bitter.

Yeah, and apparently he was an outcast even amongst the cast when they were shooting. Must have been kind of sad. And it's not like the fans were after him, either. Still, he could have a better attitude about all of it.

Yep, its really sad if the problem came becuase he was the worst treated of the cast. But as you say, he could have had a better attitude and now he would have been probably be loved and good remembered by the fans of the series.
