![]() Yeah so im a Prince fan. Perhaps the craziest thing ive ever done. Hes starting his first Australian Tour in ten years tonight in Sydney. I am going to ALL of his shows across all the cities. Took some leave, booked flights and accommodation. Tickets for all shows locked in. Travel schedule: Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane/Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne. Yep. Wish me luck or mock/flame me, will post pics of my adventure if there are any other prince fans in here that are interested :P |

i did this with Ween. Awesome fun. I saw Prince in LA at the forum at the beginning of this tour, when he did 21 shows in a row there, and its the best hes been for years, totallt in form and playing more of his 'naughty' stuff. you know it would have probably worked out cheaper to fly to the USA and see the same amount of shows, 20 buck tickets.

I've seen Prince live on a lot of occasions since Lovesexy in 1988 and he's a fantastic performer.
You'll love every minute of it! And try and get into as many after-shows as possible - it's mind-blowing seeing Prince in intimate venues. Report back, sir, and I hope you have an amazing time! |

I guess the best way to describe it is it just felt like it was missing something. I dunno. I had gone in with max excitement 'cause I had always heard how amazing of a performer he was, and he was great, but I didn't find it amazing. I would say it's 'cause I'm younger (in my early 20's) but I went with a large group of my family who grew up listening to him and adore his music, and they felt the same. Maybe it's 'cause we were the last stop on the Canadian tour?
In comparison, I saw the final Watch the Throne show in Vancouver the following night, and that was amazing and blew my mind.

I'll be at the Sydney show tonight! Not a dedicated fan but I felt he was someone I should see at least once. Should be fun. OP, you are one crazy man spending that much cash and holiday time following one guy.

Just to let everyone know too, this tour was announced around 4 weeks before everything went on sale (and sold out most tickets on that same day) so the OP made the decision to spend that much money and organise it all likely then and there !
And then more shows were added for a week or so later (hence why the OP doubles back on cities) This is mad dedication chap. My house mate has the prince logo tattooed on his arm and is uber excited. I my self am going to the final melb show on the 30th I think! Shall be wonderous I'm not even a huge fan, but he's one of those 'I saw ***** when I was your age' acts to tell the grandkids about. So I dropped the $200 |

I don't know why millionaires don't spend their money following prince on tour
this sounds like a great idea, and a life's goal i aspire to saw him in dublin last year and its one of the best things i've ever seen - not just gigs; it felt like the best part of a party extended for three hours; which is kind of rare, most gigs are an artistic venture, or a rehash or just for the money etc but only prince and the new york dolls seem to have genuine fun in my experience as if they'd do it even if no one showed up i posted in another thread about regretting missed gigs etc and the three that i hold are james brown, hendrix and michael jackson - the first two died before i was into their music and the logistics of going to london stopped me from seeing jackson - but i saw all three of them through Prince, and obviously Prince as well |

Well that just about wraps up the first Sydney show, which was also his opening night for Australia.
What can I say? This man is amazing live. Better than the last time I saw him 10 years ago. Was that two or three encores? Show time was about 3+ hours of constant funk and dance. He had the whole stadium on their feet for almost the whole show. Almost every hit was in there, and some of my all time fave rarities. Thanks for the education Prince! Now onto show #2! |

Prince has a weird regimen and view on health outside of religion. |
