Stop the presses, people are being stupid about piracy again. I'm shocked.

This doesn't do anything but bother the consumer. The people who make the copies of discs aren't going to stop doing it because of an extra warning screen, and the people who watch pirated copies of discs (either on a burned disc or from the internet) aren't ever going to see the warning. You're only inconveniencing the people who actually paid to see your movie.

this is bollocks. i should be celebrated for buying a legitimate copy of a film. i want a 20 second salute at the start of the blu-ray telling me how fucking awesome i am for being a good consumer.

also, does anyone have the its always sunny gif where green man hits the consumer in the face over the pirate? would be perfect here.

Buy your DVDs! Because downloading them takes too long.
Looks like a great ad for when everyone was on 56k! Too bad nowadays it's completely dumb and inaccurate, plus in the end Netflix streaming on a strong reliable connection beats, well, everything for getting your movies ASAP. Hell, on that same connection you could probably be buying them from Apple or Amazon and getting the movies faster than the car trip to the store would've, nevermind ordering the physical movie online.

Of course, this is REALLY against stuff like torrents, but that's the other problem with targeting downloading vaguely given that, also unlike the days when many people were on 56k, you can buy downloadable copies legitimately from many places.

I love how easy and simple it looks on her computer, and apparently you can download a movie in about 8 seconds.

So 20 seconds of my life staring at warning messages. This will only encourage more pirates.

I have blu-rays that do this. A animation with a big "Thank You..." etc. It's still annoying.

That's not the point people are making. The point is that the warnings are only on legitimate material, and therefore only inconveniences those willing to pay, while simultaneously encouraging them to say, "fuck this, I don't get all this warning nonsense on rips".

Maybe if the speakers are set to max volume and put it on repeat when someone manages to steal a car.

Pretty much exactly this. What a ridiculous new feature.

Hm, either I remember the video wrong or it was on another movie. It appears Black Swan has the video posted previously by iammeiam (the one with a guy downloading a movie with the speed of 56k modem). But it's weird, because I could swear I saw a different anti-piracy video recently, and I don't watch DVD movies that often :/.

Anyway, while I was looking for the video on other DVD discs I own, I saw a 2-minute ad (unskippable, of course) of a HD TV and Blu-ray movies. Since it was on a DVD, the quality of the HD footage they were advertising ("5 * better!") wasn't really that impressive :lol

Are those really the screens? I wonder how many people are going to try to hack that website to show piracy in a friendly light. I hate the screens before a movie but give me a Blu-ray over anything digital any day of the week.

Yay, show me more unskippable annoying messages intended for the pirates..... you know, the guys that don't actually buy shit like I do. Clearly I am the one you are trying to educate.

why dont they just include a slip of paper saying "Thank you for not pirating you are supporting our work" instead of a screen of "Okay, you bought it this time, BUT WE'VE GOT OUR EYES ON YOU. FUCKER."

While looking for the ad I launched "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" and instead of the anti-piracy ad there was a big "Thank You!" screen. :D It's still stupid, but at least was better than being treated like a thief.
