I paid $450 to be beaten to a pulp

Well, it was actually to have my last wisdom tooth removed, but my face is so sore and swollen now. The tooth was on its side so I had to lie there for an hour and a half as the dentist cut it into pieces and then wrenched each piece out with a variety of tools. I thought my jaw was going to be broken by the end of it.
The assistant was kinda leaning against my body the whole time which was pretty good cause she was hot. I'd rather die than go through that again though. |

Don't smoke or anything or the dry socket and treatment will be approx. 5x as bad as what you went through. They'll have to flush liquid straight into the hole and just totally hose down the nerves in the process, which usually is just really really painful and doesn't warrant any onsite medication. So yeah be careful that you keep it moist in there man!!

Now, some surgeons will advocate removing all four at once rather than doing only the problem ones and then having to go back later if the others become problematic. |

lol, reminds me of the last time i got a filling. The assistance was smoking hot and was using the air straw while the dentist was working. she was like 4 inches from my face the whole time.....i stared into her eyes passionately throughout the whole thing. I swear she was staring back too.

With the anesthetic its like 500 per tooth. At least that was how much it was when I got quotes for it... I had some inflammation a while back but its gone away since... i really want to get them out though just to be done with it. Last thing I want is to be forced to remove the wisdom teeth anyways because cavities formed in my back teeth and i end up losing more than just the wisdom teeth. I need my back teeth for steaks!

After the first time I had this done, I woke up with a broken jaw, and later learned I had developed TMJ. YAY for competent dentistry! The assistant was also hot.
$450 is incredibly cheap, try $1,500, and I didn't get a happy ending.

No general anesthesia? Fuck that. I got Fentanyl when mine were removed. It was pretty awesome. I was pretty much awake the whole time but did not give a fuck what was happening to me. Then to the drug store for 30 percocets, refilled a week later when the holes started to get infected which was some of the most excruciating pain I've experienced. I had to rinse them out and pack them a couple times a day. I nearly cried every time. That part sucked.

Surely you can't be serious...
If you have insurance (which I understand is also ridiculously expensive)? That's just insane, no wonder so many people are uspet about your healthcare system. Seriously guys, book plane tickets to Hungary, I'll take you out to eat, then we'll go and have all your wisdom teeth removed. The whole thing will cost you less than $3000 (travel expenses + 4 extractions, dinner's on me). I actually used to have family in the US who would fly home just to get their teeth done. Our dentists are great too!
