Each to their own. Like Technomancer, the form fitting thing really bugs me. If they never used that the majority of the models would look far better, personally.

I was pretty sure Adi Granov (one of the comic artists) was consulted heavily for the look of the armors in Iron Man 1.

It aged really badly. I can't see movie Iron Man suffering like that.
Well, he's in the middle of a big storyline involving The Mandarin(probably his biggest villian) teaming up with Ezekiel Stane(Obadiah Stane's revenge-fueled son) and crooked government General Babbage are all working on slowly dismantling Tony Stark and his company. They're using old Stark tech to rebuild some D-list rogues(that's probably who's in the picture) they've recruited to distract him from their real plans, namely Tony Stark got drunk and they've leaked the info out to the press. People don't like relasping alcoholics being behind the wheel of multi-million dollar suits of destruction, so Tony's been forced out of being Iron Man for the time being. Who knows what happens next?

I always liked that, since the armor was supposed to be really thin on the arms and legs (and hence able to fit in a suitcase).

Agreed. It's immensely sexy and fun to look at. Though I liked Mark IV the best thus far. When I'm feeling drunk or silly enough, I'm going to buy the Hot toys model.

I guess it depends on what the armor is, I don't know what it was meant to be when that design was first published. If its literally just a suit of armor then the form-fitting thing as a design advantage makes sense, but if its meant to be powered at all, like increasing his strength and such, then the lack of bulk just bothers me. Mechanics take up space

In fact, don't read this text, these few comic panels kinda sum up Stark's current situation, including how he sucks at making breakfast

Does Fox or somebody still own the Silver Surfer movie rights? Maybe there's a contractual loophole that links Chris Evans and SS.

Hoo boy, if Avengers 2 ends with an after-credits shot of the Surfer hauling ass towards Earth I will just lose my shit all over everybody near me.

I think Disney's strategy so far is to keep the relation between the Disney brand and the Marvel brand on a solely corporate level. The Marvel brand works well enough without support from the Disney brand.

Also, the Avengers is a Marvel creation. Calling it "Disney's" is a bit off.

It has to do with Disney signing the deal with Paramount to distribute the Avengers and future MCU films. Paramount is contractually obligated to have their name in the credits, even though it's Disney who's marketing and distributing the film.

Branding. Disney's The Avengers would just seem really weird. They kept the Pixar name after they bought them, and that would have melded with the existing Disney canon a lot smoother than Marvel. Though eventually I can see them branding the movies as Disney Marvel like they do Disney Pixar.

In this Fortune article, Bob Iger talks about how Disney has five key brands (Disney, ESPN, ABC, Marvel, and Pixar), so it sounds like they are going to keep the brands separate.

Known weaponry includes repulsors, uni-beam, pulse bolts, and an energy blade. Defenses include deflectors. Other type of weapons and upgrades seems to be created by Stark's imagination, such as a boxing glove.

This entire armor is kept inside Tony's body until mentally commanded in which it manifests itself as the Iron Man Armor. The armor is made up of Nano-Machines that can now be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark's skin. For example, the nano-machines can turn into clothes, other armors, or even different beings completely, by having the nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to. It can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The armor and Stark's own transhuman body are powered by the high-yield arc reactor mounted in his chest. The high output of the arc reactor has greatly augmented Stark's intelligence and provided him superhuman-level multitasking and learning capabilities.

Unlike earlier armors, this new armor does not appear to rely on motors and servos for motion. Instead, the nano-machines create a second layer of artificial muscle over Stark's body, upon which additional structures are assembled. This also enables the armor to self-repair and be almost invulnerable as the armor is capable of transforming and healing itself, by having the constantly replicating nano-machines replace anything that is lost or used, as long as the power output from the arc reactor isn't interrupted or terminated.
