In other words, yes, I find EA's overall Digital Distribution strategy both stupid and hilarious.

Sonic 4 Episode 2 is now out in Europe, unfortunately the PC version is like Episode 1, 1280x720 is the native resolution, and any other resolution is just a lazy upscale or downscale.
The game also has no native Anti-Aliasing option, but it's possible to force anti-aliasing through the graphics card drivers (at least for AMD/ATI graphics cards). Forcing anti-aliasing only works at the native resolution of the game though, that is, it only works at 1280x720.

Game at default settings:

It's quite a bit better than Episode 1, movement physics are definitely better, but they're still worse than classic Sonic in Generations.

When it comes to level design, it's Dimps, expect speed boosters and springs to be overused.

Is this open to anyone? And if it is how do you redeem the game?

Edit: Just read the announcement and it said by 10 AM today. Did this get extended?

There have been some crazy rock bottom prices in the past. I always felt like Ghst was dying a little when the game was selling for a couple dollars and I had zero interest in buying it. Needless to say, I'm regretting it now.

On a related note, I tried playing Alice today. Because it was on a new Windows install, had to log into Origin (via Steam) to play it again. Then I wanted to start a new game and not my continue from GameSaveManager. So I hit new game. And it wouldn't let me type any letters (But berated me and said I needed to choose at least one character). So I figured I'd delete the old file and that would be that. Crashed the fucking POS. Crashed it so hard even Process Explorer couldn't kill the Alice tree. So I had to log off to get Process Explorer to succeed. Fucking, EA. Almost deleted the game on the spot. And I sure will not be buying any game that requires Origin to run. I'll take GFWL over that crap any day.

I guess I could ask this here: Is Torchlight (1) a good introduction to the genre, and a good game, period? With all of the hype surrounding Diablo, I thought I could give it a shot to see if I would be interested in buying Diablo at some point later in the year.

Very much so. Dont play it on Normal though cause its way too easy, maybe not even on Hard and just go all the way up to Hardest.

Agree, never saw what people got out of the games, they've always been fairly lousy platformers in my book, feel the same way about it as I do Kirby. Aesthetics and music were nice, very smooth, simple fun back in the day but I'd never want to bother with one anymore. Just my opinion, though.

Torchlight is a solid B-tier, lower budget entry in the genre. It's nothing amazing but it does the basics well and looks good and runs smooth while doing it. I look forward to the sequel, but I sort of doubt it'll be any sort of match against Diablo III.

I played the first chapter and a bit of the second this afternoon, and I have to say that it was pretty damn awesome. I hope the later chapters are longer than the first (which was only about 30 minutes) but I really liked what I played of it.

Same happened to me. I'm not a big fan of military stuff, but I've always enjoyed methodical tactical FPSes like Brothers in Arms, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon or SWAT and I thought I would have fun with it. I don't think I ever managed to kill anything in the freaking first level, and everything about handling the game feels uncomfortable.

That's a shame -- Tropico's personality is definitely what set it apart for me as someone who doesn't usually gravitate towards city builders. I actually bought the Tropico 3 pack early on during the weekend, but eventually caved and bought 4 as well. I kind of miss having Betty Boom berate me constantly (I've only finished three of the campaign missions in Tropico 4 so far, so hopefully eventually she makes an appearance later?).

Anno has tons of charm, all the little animations and the beautiful graphics really give it a unique personality. It may not have the jokes and satires that Tropico has, but IMO it has the superior atmosphere and is also the superior game.

Yeah, Bethesda's been doing it for their games whether or not they are GFWL. While I'd prefer they just go with ONLY art, I do prefer having that banner there rather than that hideous generic looking PC bar that companies like Rockstar are still using for some asinine reason. Seriously, I hate that thing way more than is logical.

Finding the good game buried under ARMA is really hard, but when you do, there won't be another gaming experience that will match it. The game demands a lot from the community, and is heavily dependent on if you can find other people looking for the same experience from it. (search "briggsil arma" on youtube to see why I bought it.)

they've announced that since the start that they're are releasing it on Steam. I've been waiting for more than a month now including Cherry Tree High Comedy Club. Nyu Media can't do anything with this since its on Capcoms hand, and Capcom basically just said that its a "long process". They should have just surprised us by not telling us that its coming to Steam. The wait is seriously excruciating... *sigh*
