Yeah I'm confused. The title says 3 dead, 2 wounded ... but the report sounds like 2 dead, 3 wounded?

That was not a car, that was a missile. I have seen cross traffic collisions but not at that speed or impact.

The cabbie driver died after they made the report.

Drunk driver dead, his passenger injured. Cabbie driver dead, his passenger dead. Motorcyclist injured.

There's no caning for driving offenses, caning as a punishment is usually met out to cases pertaining to, gangsterism, drugs, rioting, vandalism, rape and such

This actually saved my life once. The light turned green and I looked right and started creeping out, then looked left before I fully accelerated and saw this asshole going 50+ through the red light.

I think you have a wrong idea of how things are done in Singapore. Capital punishment is only for kidnapping, first degree murder and drug trafficking.

Absolute moron, such a shame he took out innocent lives along with his own, he turned that ferrari into a missile. Driving a car while drunk is one of the most foolish, dangerous and selfish acts there is and to this day I will never understand why people do it.

Also, we should reuse those .gifs frequently whenever the luddites come around in the self-driving automobile threads.

This .gif is why people shouldn't be allowed to drive on the roads.

The rear glass keeps going. Literally the impact is so strong the car is torn from the rear glass and it goes forward, intact, for a frame than is sucked in the collision. Insane.

Wanker is correct. Why the hell was he jumping a light?

And I hate how the asshole driver is the one that get to walk away. The victim always dies or is terribly injured as a consequence.

Damn.......that was crazy.

And I'm really annoyed by all the xenophobic crap by the people there. Are rich business executives from Singapore less likely to drink and drive in their million dollar supercar than rich business executives from China? Is there a study for that? Whats their problem with the Chinese?

He asked what would've happened if the driver survived. Caning is a punishment for causing severe injury or death while driving drunk.

This is why I always make double sure to look both way before and during the crossing of an intersection, I don't trust a red light to make an idiot stop.

Hmm...
I think this writeup reflects how many Singaporeans feel about PRCs(aka China Chinese) and some of the reasons why this people react in this manner towards this particular incident.

http://www.facebook.com/notes/hawk-c...68844529841068

I do not particularly agree with his every point (like how he says we accept foreigners from other countries with no discrimination unless they're from China) but he does offer some good anecdotes.

This isn't happening in just Singapore, but rather most neighbouring cities around China that's seen an influx of "PRC" Chinese entering within the last few years as entrydenied's post pointed to. Similar incidents and backlash has been happening in other places too (like in Hong Kong)
