I've only remembered one bonus question so far and I'm 7th :) Finally might be able to upgrade out of the low runners.

Some comeback news:

Quote:
Alguersuari: 2013 comeback 100 percent sure

Jaime Alguersuari has no doubts whatsoever about being able to return to Formula 1 as a race driver next season. Having been surprisingly dropped by Toro Rosso at the end of 2011, the Barcelona man is spending the current campaign as a commentator.

Not only did both he and Sébastien Buemi lose their race seats in favour of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Éric Vergne but, having previously been assured that he would remain with Toro Rosso, Alguersuari was left without serious options for 2012. He therefore elected to take a year alongside James Allen for BBC Radio 5 live.

“The first day of being in the paddock with a microphone was terrible, a tough moment,” he admits, talking to Spain’s Mundo Deportivo. “I had only ever seen it from the other side in the past. But it was not the wrong choice.

“I have met more people in the paddock than over the previous two and a half years and that is very important. I can now enter any team garage without a problem, they all welcome me. When I was part of Red Bull as a driver, I had never spoken with Martin Whitmarsh or the people from Lotus; so being a commentator has opened doors.”

When specifically asked if he will return to the track next year, Alguersuari replied:

“I’m 100 percent sure that I will come back in 2013 and, when I do, I’ll be much stronger than in 2011 – I’m sure of that. My life has shot by very quickly but it seems to be going by more steadily now; I knew that was a necessary step and I’m pleased.

"With all due respect, if I had just gone to any team, my career would be dead and with no more options; and about DTM and touring cars…I can do that when I'm 35, not 22.”

To date, Alguersuari has refused to name possible teams with which he could return. Prior to becoming F1’s youngest ever driver at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix, at the tender age of 19 years and 125 days, the Catalan was British Formula 3 Champion.
http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/2...-percent-sure/

And a confident Kobayashi.

Quote:
Kobayashi hints at podium for Monaco

Kamui Kobayashi returns to Monaco fresh from a top five finish in the Spanish Grand Prix. The Japanese Sauber driver also finished fifth in Monte Carlo last year and expects the white car’s pace to be even quicker next weekend.

“I think our car will be better in Monaco than it was last year because it has improved in slow corners,” he explains. “In 2011 I finished fifth, so the target should be to finish higher up this year. However, even if you are given the best car in Monaco, in the end a lot is down to the driver to get the ultimate tenths of a second out of it.”

“We have seen five different winners in five races,” continues the man who debuted with Toyota in 2009. “So you could say almost everything is possible this year.

“I believe we have a good car and good chances for good results. The final outcome always depends on a lot of factors. But what you have to do for success is to get every small thing perfectly right over the entire weekend: and that is what I’m aiming at.”

I hope he can do it.

How many laps do you get? Would be pretty cool and 400 isn't that bad really as long as it isn't just a single lap :p

Hah, that's from my YouTube video! That video alone earned me ~$900 USD from Google AdSense :) It went "viral" from Heikki Kovaleinen when the video only had 12,000ish views. Then Jalopnik & Autoblog and finally a NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski (sp?)

It's tempting, he did really well there last year and this year they have the better Renault package. I sense it'll be a real mixup with only Force India lacking.

Whoops, forgot to include the link. Yep, it's my video. Best money I ever made, it's amazing how fast it drops off though, What is your 1million+ view video? That said, it depends what ads are being clicked on. Some categories warrant more money. Hence my very vague and lame video title!

I have no idea how we could all start at the same level and you're able to get so high so quickly :P Though fluking Maldonado last round whilst still having a WIL chassis and Total fuel has bumped me up 39 spots!

The only real dud amongst my ranks now is Petrov (and to a lesser extent, the Sauber... thing that isn't the chassis. I forget what that is.)

Edit: That video... is that you in there? Man, that's nasty. Awesome, though! (Fake edit: Totally is, I remember that video you emailed me with Webber riding a camel. At least, it's your channel)

That's pretty much who I have at the moment, with Total fuel and my driver as Petrov. With my winnings from last weekend, I'll be upgrading drivers but that'll be it. That'd probably be the only thing I could afford anyway.

He's really upped his game but it'll depend on this years performance versus Petrov's. Petrov isn't going anywhere though, Russian Helicopters just became a big title sponsor for Caterham F1:

Quote:
Russian Helicopters, one of the global leaders in the helicopter industry, is glad to announce an official partnership with Caterham F1 Team, one of the 12 participants in the FIA Formula One World Championship. From the Monaco Grand Prix, the Russian Helicopters logos will be seen on the Caterham F1 Team cars and in future the drivers’ overalls and the team’s race garages.

Russian Helicopters is a subsidiary of United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom. It is one of the global leaders in helicopter development and production with a number of special, innovative and widespread models, both civilian and military. Russian Helicopters is dominant in the Russian and CIS markets and is the leading player in the fast growing Indian and Chinese markets. The company is also rapidly increasing its presence in the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.

As a global market leader Russian Helicopters leads the field in the use of innovative technological methods. This provides the perfect synergy between its high-tech business and the high-tech world of Formula 1. The global business interests of Russian Helicopters takes the company into markets worldwide, and now, through its partnership with Caterham F1 Team, Russian Helicopters will also be represented at Grands Prix all over the globe.

Tony Fernandes, Team Principal of Caterham F1 Team, commented on the deal:
"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Russian Helicopters into Caterham F1 Team. It is a sign of the increasingly strong relationships we are growing in Russia that we can attract partners of this calibre and we look forward to repaying their faith in us and Vitaly on and off track."

Dmitry Petrov, General Director of JSC Russian Helicopters:
“Russian Helicopters are delighted to announce the start of our partnership program with Vitaly Petrov’s Caterham F1 Team. It is important for Russian businesses to support projects which positively raise the profile of Russian interests worldwide and as Russian Helicopters is a global high-tech company it is a natural step for us to support Vitaly, as Caterham F1 Team’s Russian driver, in his role in a high-tech sport which is enormously popular all over the world. Our helicopters are actively marketed internationally and I am sure that our involvement in Formula 1, a sport that is popular worldwide and is at the pinnacle of modern technology, will help us to strengthen the international image of Russian Helicopters, as well as contribute to the growth of investment in the Russian economy.”

Russian Helicopters is a subsidiary of UIC Oboronprom, which in turn is a part of Russian Technologies State Corporation. It is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters is headquartered in Moscow. The company comprises five helicopter production facilities, two design bureaus, a spare parts production and repair facility, as well as an aftersale service branch responsible for maintenance and repair in Russia and all over the world. Its helicopters are popular among Russian ministries and state authorities (Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Control Ministry), operators (Gazpromavia, UTair) and major Russian corporations. Over 8000 helicopters of Soviet/Russian make are operated in 110 countries worldwide. Traditionally the demand is highest in the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Russia, and CIS countries. Russian Helicopters was established in 2007. In 2011 its IFRS revenues increased 27.8% to RUB 103.9 billion and deliveries reached 262 helicopters.

Caterham F1 Team began in September 2009 when shareholders Tony Fernandes, Kamarudin Meranun and SM Nasarudin were granted entry into the 2010 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Just six months later, the team had two cars classified in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, a platform which served to propel the team, then on track under the guise of Lotus Racing, to the position of fastest new team in F1. 2011 saw the team race as Team Lotus, successfully achieving its goal of winning tenth place in the championship and closing the gap to the established midfield teams ahead. For 2012, Caterham F1 Team is the new, long-term identity the team is racing under and the home of Russian driver Vitaly Petrov, who joins Heikki Kovalainen as one of the two race drivers pushing to join some of the most famous names in global motorsport as they challenge for honours in Formula 1.

Ends

So basically I think we will see Petrov a mainstay at Caterham F1 for the foreseeable future. I also don't think he's that bad of a driver either. He has shown both skill and errors at times so I withhold my judgment until this year is over and we/I can compare his record against Heikki's.
