I'm ok with a red light district if it's heavily regulated (taxed, disease screening, logging for the sole purpose of disease control)- no pimps but high security (for protection of both parties)
I'm ok with casinos as long as its run by OLG, has the same type of taxation and maintains a high level of class |

It's pretty unprofessional of them, but sometimes you spot a booth without a collector and it's your lucky day. edit: It is a BEAUTIFUL day out today.

About the casino. Not on the waterfront. It's too pretty there for some mega complex like that. They can stick it in Woodbine. Would be better to really screw Casino Rama anyway. Sorry Rama First Nation the city needs the money.
But really the city should get a massive amount of tax out of this if it's to go ahead. There's no point if all the money goes to the province and the feds. In any case casinos don't seem like they have much of a future. I think the older generations have a Bond style vision of the glamour of gambling in a casino but younger people would rather play poker online or something. |

Also, the CNE runs a casino while it's in town for 15 days of the year. Why not make it look like it was built in this century and run it year-round? And/or, if Ontario Place is converted into a full-suite resort area, a Casino could give it new life among adults and non-family people, who represent a fair share of the tax base in this city, too. |

Some losers jumped out of an Indigo in suits and formal wear and freaked out: "Oh my god, it's so chilly!"
I strolled by in my t-shirt and shorts and chuckled. a) It's Toronto. 16 degrees is beautiful and balmy. b) I, personally, always feel stuffy and overheated in formal wear. One of them had a jacket on top of the suit and was freaking out about the cold too. Really?!

It was great driving around with my window down and only wearing a t-shirt. Some people are crazy to complain about this.

We haven't bashed Ford in a while.
Quote:
He was invited back in March for today's event but said it wouldn't fit into his schedule. In all fairness though, they did schedule it in the middle of his lunch hour. |

If you don't mind walking over to Portland/Queen across from the Loblaws there's a cafe that serves alcohol called the Tequila Bookroom. I've been on dates there.
http://www.blogto.com/cafes/tequilabookworm It's pretty chill in there and you can have a conversation without the crowd drowning you out at the Black Bull. |
