Too bad they don't have Arma 2 on the store. Who will be the first to capitalize on the popularity of the DayZ mod?

Torin's Passage! I have a physical copy, but I'll probably buy this too. I wonder how they managed to pry open Activision's vaults. Well, I'm glad they did.

Edit: Link to Christy Marx's website with download for Conquests of Camelot. You can also get the sequel from there, too.

Not a pat on the back, but a little more than a canned response that they dish out to everyone who requests X game. Even an "Interesting idea", nothing more, would've been better than what was sent.

Does Christy Marx actually have the rights to the conquests games? Did she buy them when Sierra went belly up? Seems like she's just doing what abandonware sites do and hoping the copyright holder won't care enough to seek legal action.

No idea. Just figured that if she had such close ties with the game and had them up for d/l on her website, she'd know something we didn't. It also makes for a decent foot-in-the-door compared to just cold-asking devs about long-lost games.

Al Lowe did also something like this. Was still not legal. No one sues, because probably no one cares much. |

That is really infuriating. It's funny, because there's an obvious best practice when it comes to this--use a web contact form, when the person clicks submit, auto-detect the intended question, show the person the Q&A, ask "Is this what you wanted to ask?", and if they select No, make sure a human writes them back.

I asked for Darklands a while back and got that annoying response. A couple of months later they released it! They probably were intending to anyway but couldn't tell me. |

Not to derail this thread but I agree about canned responses. I recently had to ask for a refund because an online shop hadn't provided my goods almost 4 weeks after taking my money. When they emailed to tell me that the refund had been actioned, they said that were sorry that the products I bought did not meet my expectations.
*sigh* Really, it was the icing on the cake of the whole affair. Okay, sorry, once again for the derail. You may all continue. |

It's definitely high. I guess they count it as a new-ish game, not an oldie.
Still nicely cheaper from Europe though, it's 20 Euros on Steam and GamersGate... |

RETROACTIVELY ALREADY BOUGHT BUT NOT YET!!
(Carmageddon + splat pack free to people who've donated $25 or more to the new Carmageddon, which I have done but won't pay until the project concludes) I suspect this means Carmageddon 2 will head Gog's way too; it might end up being a higher-donation reward on the kickstarter at some point, or perhaps just on GoG. I suspect this also means that we're quite likely to see the DRM-free version of the new title on GoG at some point, although it does require Steamworks for internet multi. |

I have the PS2 version of that Guilty Gear. Haven't tried it on emulator yet. (along with a whole stack of PS2 games I pulled from their cases when I packed away the PS2)

I have the original disc and have thoroughly investigated 3DFX wrappers to get it up and running, but WAY too much fucking around. Holy shit, this just made me realise I should see if they have Ratbag's Powerslide up for vote/request. So good. Edit: Wait, there's a Carmageddon kickstarter to donate towards? How did I not know about this? |

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=465482 You know what to do. It's the healthiest big-name big-target KS I've seen in a fair while; I'm thinking maybe $750k when all's said and done, provided there's still interest for the stretch goals after they make the primary target. (And, as Shaneus has just inadvertently indicated: This is a *really* smart bit of promotion for the KS project) |

Well, I only knew of the KS via you a few posts up, but it seems like they've their heads screwed on straight regarding it. It's the sort of title that wasn't big budget when it was first released, so it doesn't need to have millions thrown at it now. Reassuring to hear they used Fear Factory in their KS vid too, must mean they have the license for it (either for the KS project, the original game or just in general).
They'd be mad not to use this, either: Fear Factory - Cars Is there an OT for the KS? |

GOG is reaching out to old-school kickstarter lately. To support the recently-launched Tex Murphy revival, they're having Tex Murphy week, all Tex games 50% off till Friday.
Edit: You can also get the Tex Murphy games on GOG for free by pledging to the kickstarter.
