The Sandbox was a lot of fun while playing through the little campaign level things, but it gets so boring so fast in free play mode. Maybe I'm just not creative enough.

I had the same experience. There's only so much you can do, and after a bit it really shows.

Really looking forward to the Twilight Zone pinball table, totally chipping in to the KS. Smart of them to bring up ST:TNG, too, now I'm REALLY desperate for these expensive licensed tables to make it in.

It's easy to forget just how many of the truly great tables were licensed. Something to make you that little more eager:
Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure
Terminator 2
Johnny Mnemonic
The Shadow
World Cup Soccer

All great, and probably all a decent chance (with the possible exception of Indy... I'd wager Lucasfilm are pretty tight with their IP) of making it in.

Is the full version of Fairway Solitaire worth it? I'm enjoying the free version, but I'm not sure exactly what the full one gives you besides being able to buy some stuff.

It's awesome, there's a large following in the iOS boardgame thread too and it just got a REALLY good expansion. Get it. :D

EDIT: Not REALLY similar to MtG though, since it's not a trading card game. Players take from a common card pool and build their decks that way. Think Dominion, if that helps?

Thanks man! Seems to be on sale so I will definitely get it.
On another note, have no idea why wizards never tried putting MTGO on the Ipad. Seems like a perfect fit.

Looking at my HD copy I have 63 regular courses that progressively unlock, and 18 bonus courses that can be unlocked with Golf Bucks you earn through play.
Then the Store where you can buy a variety of perks and other stuff ... some with Golf Bucks, some cash only (no need to spend cash, btw).

IMO, it's a really nice amount of content for the price and highly recommended if you enjoy the game.

One thing of note ... there are separate iPhone and HD versions - only the iPhone version incorporates Game Center while the HD version has fake in game records only, if that matters to you.

I wish I held off. Paid $1.99, and imo, it's not even worth that. Terribly boring... and I'll buy and play just about anything on iOS.

Have been traveling a bunch so PikPok code giveaways have been thin on the ground in this thread lately, despite us releasing a bunch of new games and updates in the last few weeks.

So, I have 3 "Dreamworks Dragons: TapDragonDrop" codes (worth $1.99 each!) to give away old school style. Be one of the next 3 to quote this post to claim.

I suck at finishing iOS games.

Most games I buy and end up playing for a week max. Not good.

Spiderman is the only game I've finished. It was pretty short but brilliant.

Zombie Outbreak Simulator is free and briefly fun. You set a bunch of different parameters like speed, infection rate, number of zombies, number of civilians, number of police, etc. and then watch the carnage unfold in locations pulled from Google Maps.

Warning: You don't actually do anything other than select the map and then select the parameters. You just watch the action unfold.

Thanks for posting this, SLF is very charming. Enjoying my time with it. I had a weird problem when I started it though, the framerate was erratic as hell. I don't know what caused it, I'm guessing it's because I was playing offline and it was having some sort of Game Center trouble (even though it said it connected, the achievements weren't registering at first). I went online and it's thankfully been ok since then, even if I turn airplane mode on.

Sweet visuals too. I wonder if that "Other Brothers" game is ever being released.

Playing on iPhone here for what it's worth, no issues on that front. I was afraid it would have the annoying floaty/weird controls some touch-based platforms come with (like Cavorite), but it plays ok and the jumps are precise when I need them to be. I'm at the last Warehouse level, curious to see how it will perform on harder stages.

Here's a diary they've been doing on the Touch Arcade forums:

Apparently they went through some drama a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the link. Sucks how they had to discard all code and restart from scratch because of that. Still looking forward to it, hopefully it will see the light of day sooner than later.

If you open customer service on the main menu there's a edit buttons option at the bottom. Moving the buttons up toward the middle of the screen feels better.

One thing I'd like Apple to weed out is titles that prompt users to "rate us 5 stars" to receive something or another in the app.

Looking at some app store reviews, you can definitely get the sense some are inflated by the practice. Best I can tell, apps can't tell the difference about what you rated them, but that doesn't mean that people aren't just going to do what they're told, regardless of how middling the app may actually be.

Hot tip: Rate them what the game deserves, even if it's lower than five stars, and you should still get the achievement, so long as you follow the in-game click-through to rate the game.

Thanks for the tip, but it's not really the positioning of the controls. The floatiness of the characters and the graphics seem like they would be better served on a smaller screen.

You get Ace! for doing it on your first try... No idea how to really for sure get 3 stars vs 2 stars, I sometimes think it was perfect and only get 2. Maybe it's time-based? As in, you get 3 stars if you're fast/swipe fluently an don't make the players stop? ( since you can pre-swipe and don't have to wait for stand-still). But no idea.

Hotter tip: chances are as long as you click the link to rate, the game will give you whatever it said it would whether you actually then go on to rate the game or not. There is no way for the game to work out whether you rated it at all and what you rated it if you did.

We do ask people to rate our games in some of our apps, but we tend to do it nicely, without suggesting a score, and only after you've been playing a while, so people tend to rate well anyway (also, maybe we make good games).

I completely ignore any stars or comments on the Apple store. Too many plants or dumb people goaded into giving nice remarks. Forums and reviewers are a better gauge (although not perfect).
