How good are those Technics RC sets as actual RC cars? Are they quite easily broken?

That 4x4 looks like the suspension should be pretty springy.

I've got 8081 Extreme Cruiser and it's solid. I was looking at motorising it but might just hold of on that.

Hmmm...I might have another idea for a MOC using Tower Bridge.

I looked up above my desk to see an old poster my wife has of Chicago Water Tower. You know, it looks like a structure that could be pulled off fairly well (or fairly poorly with my limited MOCing ability) using Tower Bridge as a base for starting. Hell, you can use many of the same techniques.

Something to consider for the future.

I visit that place all the time when I visit my fiancee in the city. They actually have a huge Lego model of the Water Tower inside Water Tower Place. Awesome!

Amazon shipped my LEGO Minecraft set! (21102) I've been waiting for this beauty to come out!

The best part?

The box is a Grass Block.

And then there's this gem from the LEGO Minecraft Facebook page.

Goddamn it.

The impatient child in me bit the bullet and ordered the Fury Interceptor from a Spanish seller on Bricklink, thinking that it'd be on the Aussie market a lot later than it probably actually will; probably a tad cheaper than what I paid, too. Oh, well. The release will probably coincide with its arrival. I NEED TO BUILD SOMETHING NEW.

Goddamn it.

Just ordered the Emerald Night from bricklink. I blame zou for pointing out the discount on the maersk train which I bought, which then made me want to buy the other train on my wish list. Figure better to get it now before it gets any more expensive

Now I need to start looking at shelf options for display

I bought the Big Ben architecture set and am toying with the idea of doing the entire houses of parliament. Even in that small scale it'd be about 3 x 32 stud baseplates wide. Tower bridge would be a good source of parts for that I guess

The Minecraft set grows on me. A lot.

Actually, that Lego Minecraft is more Minecraft than Minecraft is nowadays :/ Just build and have fun, and don't worry about the millions of crafting thingies, different materials, worlds, nether, settings, building rules on multiplayer servers and gazillions of different enemies.

Anyway, I surely won't put 35 Euro on the table for that.

I was a train fan before a modular fan to be perfectly honest. I bought EN on a whim once and spiraled into track and train buying oblivion haha. The models are cool, but the tracks and watching them go...now that's a treat!

Local kmart was sold out of QAR :( If any gaffer bought a bunch and is trying to flipping them, pm me an offer.

I guess I could try the other kmart.... Much harder to get to through transit and walking though.

So here's my deal. I got a QAR at Kmart for myself. It was $30. I originally got one on clearance at Walmart, the day before, and I got it for $60. I lost the receipt, so I can't return it. If no one has an extra $30 QAR, I'd be more than happy to recoup the cost of my Walmart QAR. It's still only $60 for an amazing set. This is just a last resort offer for someone who wants the QAR for cheap(er), but can't find a Kmart deal anymore. I'll do it for the cost of the ship plus local tax (7%), and shipping.

Just got back from the local Kmart and they had a couple QARs, but they were still marked as full price. Are most of the Kmarts marking them as clearance items?

I made an unexpected trip to the Mall of America Lego store over the weekend, which was awesome. I haven't been there since I was a kid, so seeing the giant sculptures was really impressive. They had a pretty full stock of the LOTR sets, but the cashier said they had been selling out pretty quickly.

My Kmart had no LEGO sets in the clearance area. They must have been cleaned out already. Walmart had their QAR and Black Pearl at $70 each.

Also, Amazon (USA) has the Mines of Moria set at 10% off of MSRP right now.

Bricklink, guys. Bricklink. Sure, you eliminate the fun in the unknown, but at least you're going to be happy with the result.

Also, shopforme.com.au has the Tower Bridge for 300AUD, which seems like a ridiculously good price. They say they ship internationally, but you have to contact them for a quote. Shipping OS can't be cheap on that mother...

I'd kill for a full Avenger's set, but there is no way of doing that without getting multiples (unless I want to pay WAY too much for them individually on Bricklink).

Best you can do is get Quinjet, Loki's Escape, and the Cap Cycle sets. You get both Iron Man's (Men?), and everyone except the big Hulk (I have little Hulk so not a total loss). Unfortunately you're still stuck with 2 Loki's and 3 alien dudes.

You've got to check them under a price scanner or at the register. Never rely on just what it's marked as on the shelf or on a price sticker.

My current favorite is the Black Knight from series 7. I really hope Series 8 will have a white knight to combat him!

My quest to collect every Superhero set continues, jumped on a discounted deal for the Batwing Battle Over Gotham City 6863 currently on amazon (23% off). There's also several (mild) discounts on several LotR sets on there if you look, ranging from 4 - 10%.

So, now I will have 4 Batmans and 2 Jokers... but they'll be great for trades over time, I'm sure.

Still no sign of monster sets on amazon :/ I was pleasantly surprised at how fast they got the LotR sets, but with these they are slacking.

I hope they get the new SW sets in a timely fashion.

Considering how slick the X-Wing is, both from a general design and build point of view, I find the Y-Wing to be quite the ugly vehicle. The X-Wing is Sex-wing, but the Y-Wing... Is Why?-Wing.

I am biased as a SW fan. But the weird details in the Y-Wing build are what makes it fun. And why wing? Because rebel forces need to bomb the shit out of stuff now and then.
But the greatest rebel ship is still to come. Later this year, the UCS B Wing hits. Cannot wait!

Ha. Fair enough.

I just googled the B-Wing. Not baddddd, but it's more of an I'll-have-to-wait-and-see-Wing for me. There's a lot of potential there as a UCS set.

I don't know if I can go past the Fury Interceptor in terms of delicious design, hence my recent $140 splurge on it.

The B-Wing has yet to have a really nice set released for it. There was one that was close, but it has not yet had a great release in my opinion. With the quality of the SW sets, especially ships, this year, I have very high hopes for the UCS B-wing.

Also, if you read enough expanded universe stuff, you know the B-Wing is the one rebel ship that could fuck nearly anything up all by itself. It could take out a Star Destroyer single handedly. That alone makes it worthy of an awesome UCS model.

Either way, we are due for a good B-Wing model, dammit. Even the A-Wing has gotten respectable models made over the years, but the B-Wing has not. But I have faith in the current Star Wars team, as the ship designs this year have been spectacular.
