I don't think a show has ever given me such mixed emotions about what outcome I truly want.
On the one hand I love Tyrion, Bronn, the Hound and have grown fond of Sansa... But then I loved Davos(shitty way to go) and have a good amount of respect for stannis and think he deserves the thrown.... but then again that might also mean Tyrion, Bronn, the hound and possibly Sansa would get caught up in that if he had taken the city. It might be one of the most bittersweet endings I've felt to anything... I wanted Stannis to win but then I also wanted Tyrion to prove himself and make it through the night. I'm curious how this plays out now though. Will stannis be caught and killed? Did he narrowly escape and will regroup for a second strike? I guess I see him turning hardcore to Melisandre now especially if Davos is dead. I really hope the Hound ends up getting Sansa out of the city, I feel like that would be a hell of an interesting story and because the hound is fucking badass(as long as there is no fire around). |

I was curious about this because I thought Joffrey said something about his uncle's blood bt didn't quite make it out.

I hope that preview doesn't indicate what I think it does. That Sansa doesn't escape with The Hound. Damnit can't that girl catch a break? |

Oh man. So fucking worth saving the budget for that shit. SO AWESOME.
I hope Onion Knight survived, though. :/ Tyrion kicked so much ass this episode--speeches! Glorious charges! And Bronn like a boss with the flaming fucking arrow to set the whole thing off. Wish we could've seen Bronn and the Hound fight, he would've kicked that dog's ass. I was surprisingly glad to see Cersei not poison her kid. Too horrible even for her. Sansa really should've gone with the Hound. Come on, gtfo of King's Landing while you have the chance. Wonder if she would've decided differently if she'd known they'd win and she'd be stuck with the Joff? Wait, WHAT? |

As Angry Grimace pointed out, the guy who went after Tyrion was the same guy that Joffrey had told to be his Representative on the battle field and follow his uncle, a one Ser Mandon. You could tell by the armor he was wearing, since he is the only character to have that armor.

Loved how we got a little contrasting their fighting styles too. Hound is hacking away with lumbering brute force. Then we see Bronn's speed as he's cutting people down. so good.

I'm waiting the moment Bronn hunts him down too. He's no longer in service so he owes nothing and they already have a little fight to continue that started before the war. That should be fairly epic.

I've watched a lot of action movies, war epics, etc. and that scene is the first to make my palms sweat and to make me gasp in astonishment.
For the rest of you with good 5.1 setups that is going to be a reference scene for years to come. WOW. Tonight was the first time I noticed that Charles Dance was 3rd billed. Looks like his role is increasing going forward. |

Yeah I guess thinking about it a little more I'm not sure what my choice in that situation would be either. You know Stannis wouldn't harm you in all likelihood and all intel points to his victory. You really don't know the Hound all that well, plus he looked like he kind of lost it a bit. Still I see things only getting worse for her |

Amazing episode.
I'm confused about Tywin ending up at King's Landing. Last we saw he was at Harrenhal and was heading out to intercept Rob. Was that all a ruse because he figure out who Arya was or is there just a big time gap where stuff happened that hasn't or won't be shown? |

The whole Melisandre thing is still kinda weird to me. I get that Stannis wants to be the one to win the battle so he's viewed as King Shit, but when you have a trump card that consists of a demon-birthing sorceress, why not abuse the shit out of it? :P
I dunno if a barely tangible shadow assassin thing that can materialize at will can take on an entire army, but it probably would have been helpful to have one on your side, or whatever else Melisandre's got up her |

Reading this interview with Benioff and Weiss about the behind the scenes on this episode made me strangely nervous about HBO giving them the proper budget going forward for this show, since I assume many battles will end up taking place that will rival the significance of this one. I mean maybe not but I assume so. I mean the interview seems to be in praise of HBO, but I came away still thinking that HBO might not ok another big scale episode like that.....then again I don't know if that will be needed but common sense tells me it probably will be. I just loved this episode so much that if the rest of the series is a bunch of big battles that all end up taking place off screen would be horribly disappointing.....but I'm by my nature a pessimist about TV companies. |

Went back and rewatched, you are correct, he doesn't actually say what he's planning to do. He also says "a king who runs won't be a king for very long, he's a Lannister he'll stand and fight" hehe.

This is why I never interrupted the conversation in here last week when people were talking about where Tywin was going. Technically I would have been following the rules pointing out he never said where he was going but that would have ruined the surprise tonight.

I wonder what that means going forward? Whats her name that was married to Renly seems power hungry, I wonder if she tries to marry Joffry. Would make sense for both sides since the Lannisters need troops and the Tyrells have them.
Though I thought Loras hated the Lannisters, I guess he probably hates Stannis a little more. |

Didn't the prostitute complement Bronn's voice at the beginning of the episode? |

I think season one really fucked me up, because I was totally expecting a major character death in this episode. Heh. |

And it seems comically obvious how such a thing would be useful in battle. It doesn't have to go around murdering scores of people; you sic it on the commanders and other critical people and leave the soldiers disorganized and demoralized. You fuck up the chain of leadership and let your soldiers wipe up the rest. |
