As cocky as Don is about his abilities it looked like he didn't mean that at all and it showed on his face, I don't think Peggy believed he meant it either.

Far and away the best episode of the season. Don's face when Joan walked into the partner's meeting was great. Almost a Suitcase moment.

Whether he meant it or not doesnt take away the sting of actually saying it. It still came out. And it was fire.

Man, what a disappointment Pete has become. For a while it looked like he was growing into a better person, but the 2nd half of this season has turned Pete back into scum.

Roger not even really protesting the Joan thing was also disappointing.

Loved that don didn't stand for it. Even if part of that was because he wanted it on his own merit.

I don't blame Joan for doing it. That's a lot of money being offered.

Big plot was Peggy leaving. We all this moment was coming, but I assumed it would be towards the end of the show's run, not now. Are we going to follow her away from SCDP? If she's really gone, it's kind of confusing. I always assumed she was the most important character besides Don. And the one that represented the 60s the most (and does here).

Peggy is such a great character, I really just don't want her gone. Even though I was happy to see her stand up for herself while Joan sold herself out (and Megan was also on display). But this show without Peggy just won't be the same.

Haha, but my point is it wasn't fire at all because she didn't feel the sting. It was a hollow attempt at insulting her.

I feel sick. I can't believe the partners would agree to pimp Joan out. And that she'd agree to it. I mean, I can in a way as their motivations were pretty clear, but still.

:(

And Peggy leaving is pretty huge. I really hope the show continues to follow her journey.

All in all a tremendous episode.

The producers of the show had a really interesting interview where they discussed how the modern audiences' perception of that incident might be completely different from Joan's own. (Rape vs a really bad date.) And that kind of played out here, with Joan in another bad sexual situation that she endures in the hopes of a better future. (Marriage then, here, the partnership stake and voice she's wanted for so long.)

Thanks to work, I'm so behind. Just finished 504. Glad Joan dropped the rapist (and brought it up again). Small steps towards her own agency, even if it's more out of necessity than by choice.

Still having a hard time accepting Joan's decision. That whole arc seemed a bit much for me. Mad respect for Peggy after mulling over her decision, I think she'll regret it but good move for the present.

I'm surprised she did it too. I dont judge her, but you'd think she'd consider the ramifications if that secret ever got around the office. I mean, it's a secret shared between her and a group of men, not exactly airtight.

I'm surprised Roger didn't have more to say about. Perhaps he respects her enough to let her make her own choices, but jeebus, she had his child.

After Don, Peggy is the most interesting character on the show. We've watched her grow from a naive, scared little girl to an assertive, talented, and creative woman who knows her worth as a copywriter.

They probably wanted us to think about that.

If you see the elevator as an 'abyss' (Don: Megan as stability in one elevator and emptiness in the other), Peggy just stepped right in with a smile on her face.

Also wanted to mention how the Jaguar/Joan metaphor surprised me with how it lacked any subtlety. The show normally does those things with a lot more nuance.

Wow. What a fantastic episode. So conflicted about so many things that happened. I was so sad to see Peggy go, but was happy that she took a stand for herself. It was bound to happen at some point, though like someone else said, I was expecting it more towards the end of the show. I really, really, really hope we still get to follow her character.

That's what I was thinking. Ginsberg coming up with the Jaguar pitch combined with Peggy leaving sort of set it up that way. Ginsberg is a really interesting character so that was neat to see him come up that tagline. I'm guessing with Peggy gone Don will depend on him even more, though the big difference there is that I think he actually liked and respected Peggy (despite being a douchebag to her too often). With Ginsberg, he's slowly seeing his talent, but he also seems to despise his company. Should be interesting to watch.

Oh, man. For a second there, I thought Peggy was about to plummet to her death. D:

Seriously, though, I'm going to miss her, if that's really her exit. Peggy's always been my favourite. It's probably the healthy decision for her career, too, which only makes it sadder. They have to follow her story as a competing copywriter. They just have to.

But don't worry, guys. It's Ginsberg time!

I had a feeling Peggy would leave someday. I think the show is indeed going to follow her. This is our chance to see what other ad agencies were like at the time. And to see the world of the 60's through non-Sterling Cooper Draper Price colored glasses. It should be interesting. It'll also be interesting to see if this other place treats Peggy like a queen, or if they chew her up and spit her out.

Pete is such a sleaze bag. I used to feel a bit sorry him with his family situation, but now I have no sympathy for him or his hairline.

When Roger yells out 'It wasn't even close!' (or something to that effect), did it make anybody else wonder if they could have won Jaguar over without Joan resorting to what she did?

My money is now on Don for going out the window. How many seasons are left? With Peggy leaving, Ginsberg coming up with all the best ideas and Don left with the company of a bunch of low lives (in his fellow partners), all that needs to happen is Megan winning a part and leaving, as well as Lane's shoddy finances being exposed, to create the perfect recipe to make a non-silhouetted version of the opening happen.
