Canalzone was big in qwtc and I'm pretty sure I saw it (or something SUPER close) tfc. It's been years though and I definitely need a refresher. It's a complicated map, much more so than your average tf2 one.
Edit: If it's the map I think it is... 2nd edit: Yep. It is. |

I played a couple of the Dynamic Payload maps on the TF2maps.net server today. First up I played prl_atoll and I wasn't really all that impressed. The "dynamic" part of the map was the track rotating, taken directly from Barnblitz. Also the map often just turned into a death match since the spawn exits were very close to each other.
I also played pl_Stroika, which I felt was the better of the two. It had a number of dynamic elements, like a crane moving the cart to another section of track, the red spawn in a moving crate, and blue having to get pieces of track like the intelligence in CTF mode. It felt much more "Dynamic" then atoll, though it felt like it should of been shorter, it took a long time to get back to the front lines, especially if you were on blu and you captured a 2 points. I didn't play any complete games of Stroika so I don't think I can give it a final judgment though. Overall I didn't think either of those maps felt worthy of being made official. I consider Cashworks, Swiftwater and Boundary to be the best custom payload maps, and Panic to be the best custom payload race map and neither of those maps were nearly as good. Hopefully some of the other maps in the contest will impress me. |

Basically as an Engy you can just spam that across the map and keep the other team from popping an uber. |

Pomson is a broken weapon. Its hitbox is like 10x the size of the actual projectile, there's no way to stop it and there's a bug where if you hit a cloaked spy it COMPLETELY drains their cloak. Also, draining uber just slows the game down, which competitive leagues are always against. Pomson needs a smaller hitbox that matches up with the particle, the cloak bug fixed and it needs to not drain at all on penetrated shots. |

If we weren't doing highlander this Tuesday I'd call for a custom map night. Also, highlander this Tuesday: http://tf2.gafserver.com/highlander/ |

Over on Facepunch Ronin (who's made a number of items added to the game) implied two weeks ago that the next big update would be coming in the next week or two. It also seems like he will have some new, never before seen items added in the next update.
Hopefully he wasn't just BSing about the date, we're more then overdue for the next big update. |
