I know that's why I'm trying to be selective and use restraint, so I don't end up posting a thread about my addiction to buying games and not playing them :/

Get Enemy Territory, it's the best online fps ever. Oh and it's free too. And get RTCW for the SP while you are at it.

There's a huge DD sale on Amazon right now, and Paradox are a part of it.

Don't be like us, there's still time for you.
But crippling choice paralysis due to a huge steam backlog is an important part of the experience!

This guy knows what's up.

e: Also I haven't seen anyone recommend Cryostasis, so I'll be that guy again. Play Cryostasis.

Ha, I got a new gaming PC yesterday and just started my Steam backlog (bought lots of games during sales, but could never play the games on my old ass PC back then).

Currently am playing Diablo 3, Crysis and have Portal and The Witcher all ready in Steam too.
After those it's FEAR, STALKER and Starcraft 2. I have plenty of games to play until the next holiday sales. ;) Good times.

Wow, KKRT00 pretty much covered it. Though some of those games are older than 10 years, and the Warhammer 40k RTS series is a curious omission.

Get RCT3. Expect a vastly different kind of sequel, but it's really good on its own :D

Didnt like Dawn of War 2 and havent played Dawn of War 1, so i havent included it there and i've tried to put only titles i've played.

--edit--

Holy fuck, information overload. I will be spending the whole weekend just going though this thread and researching games to buy.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to make lists. I would really like to read some more discussion about why people like certain games our why they don't like others.

For those interested in what laptop I am buying, I posted some specs in the gaming laptop recommendations thread. As far as I can tell, it is far from bleeding edge, but should be able to run things at a reasonable rate. I am mostly interested in the older/Indie games anyway.

The reason I am going for a laptop over a desktop is that my computer room is currently being covered into a nursery (first child) and space is now an issue in my house!

Anyway, I will try to update the OP with my purchases and impressions.

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed so far, I hope you will stick around.
